I love the non-trademark names these little guys have. "Iontheprize" and "Obstruction" in particular are really good
You haven't even seen them all! After naming the rainbow of Seekers that is possible, my well of clever may be dry. You'll have to let me know. Until then, here's some fresh paint:
i don't know what yall are doing with all this. but i highly suggest you all ramp it up and drastically slash the prices. it looks like a new player is entering the ring and from what i see it looks fucking insane. i do wish yall all the best and hopefully you can gain some real traction soon.
It should probably have its own thread, but that’s kinda hard if it doesn’t have a name, yet. Anyhoo, for now… 3rd Party Legends Master Thread
Limited run of a 3d printed Galvatron figure that's 3cm tall. I don't know that they're releasing everyone, but their designs are so small I have to wonder how the majority of them would be anything more than the static-standers that go with Haslab Unicron.
That I don't know. I was only asked to do the crew of the Ark and the Nemesis from G1 S1. If the line continues and I'm asked to do more, then I'd love to do those guys too. I think their alt modes are large enough and make sense to do as separate figures, but that decision would ultimately be up to @djjetstorm .
I'm on that now! Summer is finally here and I'm getting back to it all. I would love to do them and Devy next but that really depends on how the ark crew sells. I really hope we can move these so we can work on more. You know I have tones of plans but they will only happen if we do well with these and your are ok do design more. As for whats to come. I'm finishing up my preorders for the other kits this week and starting back on testing colors for the Nanobotz. I'll post the listing for etsy here as soon as I have some ready.
I've gotten multiple messages and comments about that 3d printed miniature Galvatron for Newage's Cyclonus. I got one like this tonight and thought I'd post my reply here. First thing's first: I love Thin Hair Too Old's design. It's awesome. It nails Galvatron perfectly for the size. I personally welcome any and all competition because it helps me improve as a designer and it creates more options for me as a fan and collector, so it's a win win for me when someone else is doing what I want, have, or thought about doing. My kid will tell you that I'm not a comedian, but there's a saying in comedy that's something like "if you have to explain the joke, it's not a good joke". Thankfully this isn't comedy so when it's suggested that my work isn't done to the same caliber as similar work in the same space, I feel like I can respond to that. So let's talk about this Galvatron.. THTO's Galvatron isn't in the same scale as the figures I've designed for @djjetstorm @ Half The Battle. It is 3cm tall, whereas my Megatron is 3.9 cm tall. To keep things fair, I'm comparing it to my Jazz, which is designed to be the same 3cm tall. Unfortunately I don't have any physical prints of the HTB figures, so I can't use actual photos, but the prints are 99% accurate to the designs as shown in renders. As I hope anyone would agree in viewing them side by side, both designs capture almost the entirety of the details in the original animation designs. Each design makes some sacrifices or simplifications for scaling or articulation purposes, like Galvatron's missing thigh-high and ab details, and Jazz's reduced crotch-intake fins or front-bumper grill mesh. The limited articulation in THTO's design allows it to match the silhouette and proportions of the animation artwork, while the scale and articulation requirements (articulation point count and part size) of the HTB toyline necessitates taking some artistic license to make everything work together as much as possible. The last point I'll make is that Galvatron isn't the fairest comparison. His animation model is chock full of detail lining that, when reproduced in 3d form, is going to have a much more detailed appearance versus the simpler animation designs of the season 1 cast.
With the premise that this may only come out like that, out of context, and it wasnì't the original poster's intention to sound like an ass, I'd say the one major factor allowing that is the creative freedom of any designer to actually design in their own style. Normalizing down to one standard is so, so, so bad.

Wow, wasn't expecting them to be so pricey. Neat but just way overpriced IMO. It's like the nano scale figs that Lance Chen sells. I'm sure some will love them but the price is going to probably turn most collectors away.
I feel like they're pretty on the money for being sold mostly separately, so minus the Soundwave & Friends set. They maybe could be a little cheaper if sold as a set, but selling them individually is more friendly to, say, highly selective fans who maybe don't want the whole of one cast or another, like, for example, myself.
