I think the reason is because Unicron has become over used and he is losing his POW, personally I like the focus on just the Bots and Cons no need to bring them in.

Two actual planets fighting? They gonna bump together like conkers? Exciting...

Or you mean fighting as robots? Don't we already have fighting robots in the movies?

Ya, but I dont think any Unicron in any series has been used to his full potential. In armada he just stood there, in energon he was like a giant rock that didnt do anything until the very end, and in G1 they just used the matrix to blow his head off. I wanna actually see him blowin up planets and shit, ending an entire species, and 2 of the biggest robots in the univers beat the metalic shit out of each other.

That's a ridiculous extreme for a live action movie.

It has a lot to do with the fact that Unicron represents the ultimate evil in the Transformers universe. Once he is destroyed, there is little need to continue. Unless his evil essence survives in the form of his disembodied head and with minions. He does take the focus off the Decepticons, to be fair. However, I feel he is so integral to the fabric of the TF multiverse that his inclusion is necessary. Though not necessarily as we have seen him thus far...

There is a recent thread about this already so beware the :locked2:

But anyway, it would take a lot of time, energy, and money to bring not only one, but TWO planet formers to the screen. We would probably sacrifice having more smaller Autobots and Decepticons being introduced because they would have to provide for the big guys. I like the Twins, but I don't want Herp and Derp part 2 mixed with a planet eater and creator of all fight. I would rather see the combining groups or Mini-Cons.

BUT we do need a villain bigger than The Fallen. You can't have a sequel with a big epic villain and then a smaller villain as the concluding movie bad guy. That just wouldn't work. The writers said something about introducing Unicron "for scale's sake". I know what they mean by that now. Besides, I was never entirely opposed to Unicron.

Maby if Unicron is destroyed the whole cybertronian race is extinguished and there is only 1 autobot and part of the alspark to build a new cybertronian race.

Personally, if they were done right, I wouldn't mind them, but I would NOT want them to be giant planets like past incarnations. Keep the whole thing about them being twin brothers that are kinda like Gods to the Transformers, but keep them at a smaller scale. Kinda like Unicron's Deluxe class mold he got during Cybertron. If they wanted to keep a homage to their former planet selves, maybe have their alt-modes be two spherical space stations (kinda like two mini death stars). I'd rather see Grimlock and the other Dinobots show up, than to have two planet sized Transformers in the movies. At least the Dinobots would be easy to keep in the same shot as the other Transformers.

it would be almost impossible for the villain to interact with the regular cast.

Because the movie should be about The Autobots and Cons. Not some stupid god/devil beings. Dumbest idea ever in the Transformers mythos.

Like Beast Machines? NO. Unicron at this point has become a hack. He was epic in G1, but has lately become overused as the "Big Bad" in most recent series.

Having not only him, but Primus too, would be like asking the government for $500 million to film this movie. Devastator himself fried a freaking laptop because of all the memory that his model takes up. TWO planetformers would be unfathomable. That and it would look completely ridiculous. But I am not rock solid in my opinions. If you could convince me otherwise, go for it. I would love to see a movie-verse Unicron done correctly. :D

I am an atheist regarding Primus. I believe in the theory of Quintesson Production and I believe in the seperation between Church and Bay.[/justajokenoonefreakout]

Yeah that really happened! It was in an interview in Nick Magazine or something. It's in the news and rumors section somewhere.

"Dumbest idea ever" is a bit extreme, don't you think? He was introduced as a new villain, partially because Megatron had been used for 60-odd television episodes. I've been saying for a long time that Unicron does not need to be a planet in alt mode. A smaller scale is fine. It is his personality that is essential and what remains the same throughout the numerous realities. The Fallen is bigger than Megatron. Unicron is bigger than The Fallen. The Fallen fell from grace because he desired power, what introduced him to this way of thinking? Unicron could answer that. (I'm not saying that other villains can't have a place. Thunderwing could go on a Matrix quest in TF3 or go all IDW on their asses. The Quintessons could enter into alliance with Megatron, supplying him with clone Seeker troops.)
