How do you think the Terrorcons would differ from the Decepticons? Like do they want something different from what Decepticons want? I still prefer that the Maximals should be the enemies of the Predacons. But since the movie focuses on the Terrorcons, I just wonder how Scourge, Nightbird and Battletrap are different from Decepticons like Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave or Shockwave.
From what we've heard they act more like horror movie villains/monsters rather then just brutal soldiers and if they are indeed Unicronian of origin that would make sense. So I imagine them taking cues from certain horror icons or at least very intense sci fi villains. Scourge - Dracula (specifically the more battle warrior type.) Nightbird - Predator Battletrap - Jason Vorhees
Predacons are the maximals enemy. It’s just that the Terrorcons showed up to the Maximal’s home planet and destroyed it with Unicron. So, now maximals have beef with the Terrorcons. But the Terrorcons only align with Unicron and whatever his interests are, so that makes them a threat to any and all transformer factions, hence why Scourge has insignias of damn near every faction that has existed.
The only visual difference I see is that the Terrorcons seem to have an internal red glow like The Fallen. The leaks we've gotten so far don't make them sound all that interesting.
That's a very good question. One that I'd like to see posed to the director and writer of this movie.
I feel like not using the Decepticons for this movie is actually the right move. BBM ended with Bumblebee stopping Shatter and Dropkick from sending a signal out to the Decepticons about Earth, so it'd be kinda weird if they just showed up immediately afterward anyways. Give us a movie to savor that victory, ya know?
I stand by my theory. The Beast Wars ended millenia ago, and we are introduced to the surviving Maximals. Somehow, this version's Beast Wars involve the transwarp keys and Unicron. Leaves open prequel possibilities that focus on the Beast Wars.
I think you're misunderstanding the issue here: if they replace the Decepticons with guys that are basically the same in almost every way except for like one or two things is that really any different at all? It'd be one thing if these new guys were drastically different from the Decepticons both visually / aesthetically and in regards to motivation / tactics but they really aren't.
Compared to the Bayverse Decepticons? I imagine a lot more characterisation going on. They're all diabolical with Battletrap being the brute and Nightbird being kind of like Shatter in that she makes plans before action. About on par with Shatter and Dropkick when it comes to characterisation. Relax, the Decepticons are not getting replaced. It's like saying the Quintessons being the villains replaces them. They're bad guys. We know.
The highly probable rumored difference? Spoiler They're Bayformers corrupted by Unicron and sent back in time. Go take another look at Battletrap.
Yep, Yep (in Teddy Riley voice). Also a good one to ask Lorenzo, yet getting a coherent intelligible answer from him would be more of an exercise in futility. . .
Bullseye! Discernment isn't much of a strong suit with these movies - and moreso with the execs behind them. . .
Interesting and I agree. I could also see the three main Terrorcons being based on these horror movie villains: Scourge - Michael Myers Nightbird - Freddy Krueger Battletrap - The Creeper Yes. This theory is what I'm thinking of! The Predacons have been defeated and possibly killed many millennia ago. Spoiler The surviving Predacons are the rumoured Scorponok army that were mentioned in BlaminisPrime's leaks.
