As long as you're not denying the "ignorant" part of my edit, I think we've made real progress.

Because no one knows how Covid-19 got into the human populace. Any position someone takes that assumes a cause is literally ignorant, so I'm not even trolling. You said China needs to regulate the wet markets. Hey, guess what, they do. But regulations are often circumvented. But, again, since we don't know how the virus transferred, we don't even know if a regulation was circumvented to cause this. You've openly blamed China and called for them to change their ways (based on an ignorance of what their ways are) as a response to something that is currently a total mystery to all the experts. You can see my previous post to Haywired as to why that's a problem.

And for the record, I feel neither heroic nor morally superior. Just exhausted and sad.

I like how certain administrations are given more benefit of doubt even if it's their second time. This is comedy gold, the mental gymnastics some people are capable of...

It isn't a stretch to believe that it originated from china and from a lab people want to fund.

Fun fact - the "clickbaity" market shots weren't CGI scenes and are no less real. But the Asian wet markets aren't even the main culprit here. Someone could be simply bitten by an infected animal. It's the secrecy and not informing about the outbreaks in time what's the main cause.

If you're going to pretend that SARS didn't happen or to downplay it...

I don't even want to imagine what could've been if the mad cow disease outbreak was handled in the same way. That thing can be really lethal but it was caught early enough.

Nope, that was just a very vague post that I'm still not clear on. Which administration? Ours? Theirs? And what specifically did they do twice and when did those actions occur?

    Just got this e-mail

Comic-Con International is officially cancelling the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con, marking the first time in 50 years that the show will not go on. It is the right thing to do. Comic-Con wants to do all we can to fight the spread of this virus and support workers who are on the front line, fighting this battle.

There will be better days ahead and we believe the Comic-Con Museum will play an important role in San Diego’s recovery after COVID-19. We are a destination city and tourism is vital to our economy. The development and opening of the Comic-Con Museum will act as a catalyst to reopen one of the world’s best urban park’s and a destination city known world-wide.

Some of the proposed Phase I renovations will shift, but this will not scale back the visitor experience. Our 2021 grand opening is still on track and you will soon see building plans that illustrate this transformation. To ensure we stay connected in this new reality, the Museum will introduce new and creative digital ways to bring the magic of Comic-Con to you all year-round.

We will redouble our efforts to regain momentum on opening this museum by 2021. And we can’t wait to work with you to realize this vision. Better days are ahead.

Yeah, this is going to end with publishers and stores looking into getting out of the Diamond monopoly.

Dude, they're already out of it. DC has two new distributors. This is huge.

Yeah if this works, Diamond may not be coming back at all.

I honestly thought it’d be Marvel that went past Diamond and resumed shipping first. Disney is losing some insane number a day, just straight sending stuff to digital would have generated at least some revenue.

Marvel's publishing arm is a rounding error for Disney's total budget. They're not sweating it.

Why they're so shocked when DC move, in a current situation at least, is the obvious one? If a monopoly hits you then you're doing what you can to bypass the monopoly. Besides, it's not like the situation with a single company de facto doing all distribution is a healthy one. Even if everyone got used to it.

On social media, the supporters and naysayers of DC's new distribution partners is turning into a real war. There's a lot more supporters and defenders of Diamond than I thought there would be, even those that defend thst Diamond isn't a true monopoly because it doesn't actively discourage competition. This is going to get intense.
