To my knowledge, only the Prime KO uses the Joustra mold. And the newer Prime KOs have "Made in Japan" there instead. It's complicated.

if they spend so much time and effort in making a KO that looks/resembles the G1 figure, why did they miss all the box arts? if u look at mirage's box(orig vs KO). they are obviously different. If the KO makers had the original box, its rather careless for them to not make it identical all the way unless they rushed it out.. but doesn't seem like they did.

Good point. Yes, there are differences. Why they're there is unclear. But the fact that they're working toward eliminating those differences (albeit VERY slowly--it took 2 years for them to tweak the Optimus KO) suggests that they were not intentional.

The card of the knockoff Beachcomber is based on that of the licensed Chinese Beachcomber from the 1990's. If it is missing "Made in COUNTRY under license from Takara" on the back (it will still have "Copyright Hasbro, Pawtucket, RI"), then it's probably the knockoff. It could be the Chinese version, but there are a lot more knockoffs out there than the Chinese version. There are probably a lot of other difference too, that's juts the one I know off the top of my head.

To my knowledge, the Seasprays are legit. According to Spencer, the guys who make the current assortment of knockoffs have never offered a knockoff Seaspray. If you see one with the abbreviated Copyright info, it's just the licensed 1990's Chinese release.

thanks might gaine.. i am quite paranoid over knock offs.. anyway for KO mirage is there anyway to differentiate them in sealed bubble form? cause currently we differentiate by the box, is there anyway to differentiate the toy in its sealed bubble form? such as the toy imprints and so on..

    Ebay:
these things are almost as bad as those guys that sell fake Test Shots (IE removing the paint of alternators and sticking them on ebay as "prototypes")
