How to tell if your Masterpiece are real or KO?

    I recently start to acquire some Masterpieces from other owners and retail shops, but I start seeing youtube video on KO MPs on Lambor and Smokescreen mould MPs.

    I am now worried if my MPs might contains knockoffs. How to tell if they are? And for reissue how to tell the difference too?

    Current list of the stuffs I have are,

    Skywarp
    Megatron
    Soundwave

    Skywarp - does he have massive pieces of jet hanging off his hips in robot mode? If so, it's legit. The iGear Seekers were modified to have those pieces remain on the legs much like the MP-11 redesign.

    The other two haven't been knocked off so rest easy.

    Well, the MPs that you own has not yet been KO'd (or no reports yet that they have been KO'd as far as I know).

    iGear did made their version of MP Skywarp but I'm not sure if that falls under KO since it's based on the MP3 Starscream mold with the 'fixes' applied.

    I believe the MPs that have been KO'd are MP10, MP12, MP14, MP15, MP16, MP17 and MP18.

    There are threads in the 3P forums regarding the KO version but you'd have to browse through it to find them. They have detailed information on how to spot if it's a KO or not.

    There are no KOs of MP Megatron and Soundwave. Igear made a KO of Skywarp but that's very easy to distinguish from the real thing by the different paint deco and purple plastic colour, mould changes, and box.

    With the Lambo and Datsun moulds, it gets trickier as the figure and even the box are almost identical to the real thing. I think the only easy way to tell is by the misspelt Lamborghini logo on the back of the car in alt mode, though hasn't even that been corrected now?

    Is igear Hasbro or Takara/Tomy? Did they create the design they are making money off of? No to both accounts? It's a bootleg.

    Glad that all the old MP does not have known KO yet.

    Oh yeah then how to tell 1st run from 2nd run?
