Hate PRID Airachnid. Starscream is a bore. So I'm fusing them together.

Step one, swapping the heads, done. Now then, it could be very simple to just paint it up and make BH Airachnid look show-accurate but I don't want to be finished there. I want to replace parts off of PRID Airachnid onto Starscream's body, namely the front body panel as well as some arm and leg panels (shaved down to allow articulation, of course).

I want to keep her transformable as well. Ideas? First custom here, so I need help.

I can tell you that it won't be easy. From the looks of it, Airachnid's torso doesn't do any unfolding for transformation. I bet you can take it apart though. Also note that this is a mod that could potentially destroy both toys. Do not attempt unless you are willing to accept the possibility that you will lose both toys.

Step 1: Take her torso apart and get that front plate in hand. Lay it over Starscreams to make sure it's size is adequate.

Step 2: Remove Starscream's torso plate, hinges and all.

Step 3: Laying the two torso pieces back to back, you'll need to mark where every connection point ( hinge, peg, or metal pin ) is on the Starscream torso to where it touches the back of the Airachnid torso.

Step 4: Cut off all connection points from the Starscream torso. Make sure to remove material from the torso itself leaving the full connection point intact all the way up to where it makes contact.

Step 5: Use some Lock Tite plumbers epoxy putty to attach the connection points to the back of the Airrachnid torso so they are in the exact same place as they were on the back of Starscream's. Double check the location of each against the toy it will attach to before attaching. This putty can not be undone easily.

Step 6: Attach the new torso to the body using all the same connection points.

Not having had the Starscream mold in hand, I have no idea how it transforms. If the new chest piece will not work in vehicle mode, you may have to slice in at the abdomen and put that hinge in the middle that Starscream currently has.

I can see where you are going with this. Direct replacement of the torso plates. I'm not too worried about the figures. Airachnid was a brick anyway, and Starscream's BH figure sucks compared to the FE I have...

Time to proceed to the surgery! By the way, would you recommend JB Epoxy? I have that instead of Loctite. Also, what type of cutting tool do you recommend? I do not have the budget for a dremel, but I can use an x-acto knife.
