    hi,
I'm looking for info on how to remove heads from combiner wars figures. specifically, hotspot, streetwise and rook. I browsed the tutorials but could not find the info I needed.

For the record, I'm exploring the option of converting the CW protectobots into the rescue bots using some shapeways heads I found.

You should be able to just pull off most deluxe heads.

As for Hotspot, I don't remember completely but does it have a screw? If it does, unscrew it, then try prying open the head between the glued gap.

it does not have a screw. What would be a good tool for prying it open? none of the heads have screws and seem to be glued together around the ball joint.

I have no clue. I just stuck a knife on the Battle Core Optimus head and hammered it in, but it was a dumb idea as I could have damaged the ball joint.

To pry apart CW Blast Off's head, I used one of those flat scraper type exacto blades to gently break the friction and/or glue keeping the halves together

Why'd you pry the head apart? It pops right off the ball joint.

I've also done it before. For the deluxes, I was able to open the halves with an exacto knife. Once you open the halves, the head should come off easily. As for the Voyager head, I had a hell of a time getting Hot Spot's head off. Actually, I didn't get it off. After a few tries, I just gave up and worked with the figure. Must have been glued together.

I had to shave and paint areas. Accessing the front half of the head only made it easier.

You can pull most of them straight off. IT's a real bitch to get them back on, and you may break them but they will come off.

there are other ways to do it, like separating the head etc, but if you are not putting it back on just pull it off.
