Customs: How to get precise measurements in Blender?

    Finally decided to give Blender another try and it's been going pretty well over the last few weeks. So tonight I started playing around with it, just for practice really, but suddenly 15 mins turned into several hours and now I've got something I'd like to print. However, I have no clue how to scale the object to the right size and get a nice 5mm handle so it'll fit in my figures grip. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Edit: Nevermind, was looking in the wrong place, but got it figured out now.

    There is supposed to be a pluggin for blender where you can take two vertices and find the measurement between the two. Im still new to blender and don't know where to find the plugins unless they call them something else. any help would be much appreciated
