So I'm trying to find a third party of a few different characters, because I don't like their mainstream toys this point. However, the issue I seem to have is you either have to know the name of the 3rd party character already, or sort through a ton of toys (like TFsource) and hope one is there. It's getting frustrating. Is there a list of them somewhere with what character they correspond to? Like they do on the MP forums?

The Masterpiece Character Guide (or "do they have an MP yet", and what substitutes?)

This should help you immensely, as it has me.

That is great advice, but it didn't work for me.
And it's a for a few reasons, in particular for who I'm looking at right now, Perceptor.
He doesn't have an MP, and the MP mentioned is only one of several variations available. I'm not particular if it's an exact copy of the G1 version, and long as it looks good and is playable. The problem I have with the hasbro toys of perceptor is that the generations 2011 is very poorly made and the TR version is a headmaster, and I don't like him as a headmaster, it's wierd to me.
Sorry, that was a long winded explanation of an example of the issues I have.

Because any other version isn't meant to be MP scaled. Sorry, I thought you were looking for a Masterpiece stand in, which, really there's only FansToys Tesla right now.

Planet x version version is probably the best chug version I've seen it is called asclepius, I also have the KFC version of perceptor and well it sucks.

Give me a list of the characters you want and I'll give you a list of the most well known 3rd party versions even if I don't personally like them I'll let you choose for yourself.

Planet Steel Buster is about the only 3P CHUG Blaster going. It's pretty good, though.

For Gears there is an Igear version (if anyone can remember the name), Maketoys Cogwheel and SXS Continuously Variable. Maketoys is probably the best, but it's modeled on IDW's version. Badcube's Grump is a small MP, but is hands down the best.

Perceptor's 3P offerings have all been mentioned above.

Although it's not 100% up to date I have been adding links to third parts versions of characters in the articles on wikialpha dot org.

Just find the article on a character and at the end of the toys section is a bunch of links to their third party toys. If you find one missing you can log in and edit the page to add the missing name.

Unique toys/dx9 has a chug blaster but I have it and it honestly is ok but doesn't hold up to the standards of today and is way to small even for chug imo.
