I have limited display space, and only have "classic" autobots on display right now, and aside from Defensor haven't put anything CW or newer on the shelves and it is currently butts to nuts. I really wish I had more space to display right now or control over my OCD to stop buying. Really going to try with the next Cybertron line.

Mine is too tight. It's already at the maximum. You can still pose everyone, but it's already too crowded. It was really hard making it still look good.

I have some shelves that don't match where the rest of my CHUG collection sits, and takes up the room that SHOULD be for my other lines. What I need is about three more of the modular cabinets I have and that will fix the issue.

Pretty much elbow-to-elbow unfortunately... x.x If I have to move more than 2 other figures to get at the one I'm interested in, then I know it's waaaaaaay too crowded....

Pretty tightly. I fit figures where I can. I don't have an abundance of space. I really wish I had another bookshelf. And the room for another bookshelf. Honestly, my figures aren't the only thing with barely enough room. I have stacks of books with nowhere really to put them. I own three bookcases. The curse of a bibliophile.

As tightly as possible. I wish I had the space to let my collections breathe but I really don't.

Unfortunately, most of my display is packed together way too tightly, but I've been trying to find the time to space it all better (which is hard).

Mine started out spaced. (2009 ish)
Over time my bots grew closer to each other.
Cardboard risers helped for a time, but it was always just a stop gap measure.
As things are now, I have to reorganize my classic\generations shelf. I need to cram in at least two more bots per level.

Like sardines in a tin. I need to get some floating shelves, and a wider/taller shelf, as mine is pretty narrow. Plus, they share space with my mega man collection.

They'll start rioting if they don't get some elbow room soon.

These 2 are perhaps the only ones who do.

    Pretty tight, I guess...

This is not even everything that I have. There are a lot more in the closet, but taking a picture of that is difficult because there's a bunch of stuff in the way. These pics above are a little old since they were taken last year, but they give you an good idea of the density of my collection. o_O

I pack my shelf as much as i can get in there. I have so many figures on my top shelf they are even falling over each figure. I need another shelf but don't have another so really tight and falling over each other is really packed I'd say.

My shelves used to be really cluttered and looked less like a collection of figures but rather evidence that I'm an obsessive compulsive hoarder. This was at its worst when I had Marvel Legends displayed. Over the past year I've offloaded a ton of figures (including every single Marvel Legend) and have tried to move on to more high end things (Hot Toys, 1/6th scale figures, statues, large non-transforming guys, etc) and try to give everything ample room to stand out.

They look like the 3d FX Deco Wall lights I got from Hasbrotoyshop. Autobot glows red, Decp Purple.

Just looked and they only have movie OP and BB faces up now.....

The Autobot and Decepticon crests are indeed, a worthy addition to thine collection.

If done right, I like the look of a crowded shelf. The trick is to make sure every figure can be seen. Risers are a must. Knowing the point where the shelf gets too crowded is a "you know it when you see it" moment and, of course, depends on the shelf dimensions. I can fit 20-30 figures (mostly Deluxes and Voyagers, but some bigger and smaller figs for balance) on a 30-inch wide shelf. I've got nearly 50 G1 Diaclone carbots and Minibots on a single shelf, using risers, and everybody can be seen.
