Just like the topic says I'd like to know how rare right drive Silverstreak Alternator is? I noticed it mentioned that it was rare in a few post. Turns out mine is the right hand drive version. So I'm considering buying a MIB Siverstreak so I can put my right drive version up MIB. Is it worth spending the $50 for a replacement to keep him MIB?
Yeah I have a right drive Binaltech Shockblast, but my Alternator Shockblast is left hand drive. Go figure.
The only metal Binaltech figure I have, Sideswipe, has the steering on the left-hand side, like an American vehicle.
Well thats not so surprising to me since BT's are for a Japanese market, and the RX-8 is a Japanese car. There is no such thing as a right drive Viper, thats why. All BT's that have right drive configurations in the real world are right drive. Since none of the American cars come in right drive configurations, all the American BT's are still left drive.
Yeah, there's nothing surprising at all about that happening. What makes Silverstreak unusual is that a right-hand drive version was made by Hasbro for the US. Where appropriate, the Binaltech figures are supposed to have right-hand drives; that Laserwave is not a variant or anything rare.
I think the RHD is a lot more rare, but as others have said I don't think there is a real monetary value associated with it's scarcity.
price check: alt silverstreak, right hand drive is he worth more then left hand drive? also, he's MIB, but not MISB i remember buying him, and wanting to do a swap of parts with smokescreen so that smokescreen would be RHD, but never got around to it...oh well....
While there is no price talk here it would seem he isn't worth more in the eyes of most of the board members. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=169584
ah, thanks dude...i had heard that RHD was 1 out of every 4 silverstreaks, though i only recall seeing it once...but whatever...and maybe a mod could combine these two threads...
