I'm wondering how rare this variant is? It's the light green version with freckles on the face. I've just added pics. The normal version is on the left.

I'd be happy with just finding ANY 06 tigatron. a $7 toy which people got for free. I once offered a guy $80 cash on the spot at a con and he laughed in my face for such an "Insultingly low offer"

 

He goes for a couple hundred on eBay ...or at least had been. Had no idea there was a variant

 

Your story is compelling, except for the glaring fact that it's not a $7 toy at all. He's obviously at least an $80 toy.

Honestly, it'll probably cost you money to get rid of this. Just give it to me, I'll take it off your hands. I'll even be a gentleman and pay for the shipping, well half the shipping.

 

Its not. The entire paint job is a lighter green, plus it still has the intact maxmial tampos.

 

I meant that the toy it's based from...Clocker....was a $7 toy, people who attended Botcon 06 (not me, was in Japan at the time) got him for Free. and the guy at Botcon walking around with him in his hand WANTING people to buy it from him, was a huge Douche when I offered him $80....which that number came from being ALL my money at the time.

 

The 06 set is definitely the most difficult to get for decent prices off ebay out of the recent botcon sets...not counting the seekers...

I just managed to acquire rhinox from that set...and count my self lucky...I tried to get dinobot...but once the auction on ebay went over $200 i gave up.

It's the same color tone on every part, not just a gradual fade. It would've also affected the maximal logos as well. No yellowing either.

 

Is it possible it's a preproduction deal? A batch that got out beforehand, like they always do, that wasn't finalized? There was something similar with '09 Flak's head, no?

 

I have zero love for that Cybertron basic sized mold that botcon tigertron is using.

I don't buy my TF toys based off rarity,low volume or high secondary value prices.

I buy them because I love the design.

 

That's been my best guess (until I hear otherwise).

 

Sure, Clocker was a $7 at a mass retail release. That has no bearing at all on Tigatron's value.

Clocker had god-knows-how-many produced, shoved into every Wal-mart, K-mart, Target, TRU, etc. Anyone could find it. Hell, if you went into the toy aisle, you'd have to make effort to NOT find it.

Tigatron had an extremely small number produced (less than a thousand is probably a safe bet), that required you to first pony up $250-300, pay for travel to Lexington KY, and pay for hotel nights to stay there. (sure, I'm sure there were some locals, but this applies to the majority of attendees).

Not trying to rant or berate you, it's just a pet peeve of mine when people equate a limited tiny run exclusive as being of equal value to mass produced toy, just because they share the same mold. It's apples and oranges.

And yeah, laughing at someone for an honest offer, he's a douche. Even laughing at someone for a lowball offer makes you a douche. Just say "no thanks" and go about your way. Or even better - put a damn price on it.
