Hi, I was wondering if you guys knew how much a factory error mosc energon Stormjet was worth? It has a purple autobot symbol instead of a red! Thanks for your time.

Considering how many other errors there were on this guy, I'd say it's worth whatever you paid at retail.

I may be wrong, but I doubt it.

If it has a purple Autobot symbol instead of a red one, (and it's not just painted over) then you have a testshot prototype/sample and to the right collector it may be worth about 1.5 to 2 times the regular value of the toy.

Errors generally have very little 'extra' value. If it happened to one or two it is seen as a factory mistake, such as the Downshifts with 2 left arms. It could be a variant, which means that a good portion of figures made it out with the different symbol. If it the rarer of the two then it maybe worth more, but considering how many storm jets were produced…

at most 1.5 i'd say, but thats only to the right person. Factory errors are less sought after. It's the variants that tend to bring in the better value.

I'd argue that it might be worth even less than retail; for example, I'll intentionally avoid buying a figure if I know theres something wrong with it (mis-applied paint, assembly errors, etc). Usually, the only people who want factory errors (not to be confused with an actual variant) are either people who think they can sell it for something, or those who happen to like having little oddities... and the latter usually only if they can get a good deal on it.

I wouldn't buy a TF with an error. Maybe at 50-75 off, but not full price.

It couldn't transform into truck mode. Have you *seen* the melon on Megatron? Geez, it's like he's got Down's. :lol

Yes, the purple Autobot sign would indicate that was a prototype that snuck through and got into mass retail, if you kept it for a few years you might get a bit more, but not a whole lot more...he's a somewhat undesirable toy currently.
