Hey everyone! I'm wondering how much you spend per year on TF's. I know this is the 1st party thread, but it would be great if you could differentiate between spending on Has/Tak and 3rd party. Thank you :)

Also: Mods - forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this. I didn't have any idea where else to do so.

I thought about doing these spending 20xx things, but...a small part of me is probably better off NOT knowing :D

Not that I'm spending too much, but when I look at the state of affairs when I had such humble beginnings (I have pretty much everything MP after MP10, when I originally just wanted to own three)...it gets a bit excessive :D  I just cut back on other hobbies.

With the release of all the seekers and Megatron in the MP line, I just cherry pick the new ones as they come out. Not all, mind you, but just the Sunbow guys (with some exceptions). If I knew I spent a grand a year on TFs, I'd feel a bit odd...that's a lot of money, lol, but not enough to make you quit. I don't spend the bucks on the mainline stuff anymore, which is good. It's getting harder and harder to find any of the Legends stuff I want anyway (TR has been quite for me, only really want Gnaw and Kickback, both of which are going to be impossible to find in the wild. Shockwave from CW was DOA; had to go Takara route for him to complete my Bruticus).

Anyways, I'm sure it's around a grand annually.

Never add stuff in aggregate like this.

Coffee, eating lunch out, toys, etc etc....

You'll second guess it all. lol

....just stay within a sensible monthly budget. Much easier to digest those numbers. ;)

Truth. I have a pretty good idea of what I've spent and it was budgeted, but it's way more than what i want to think about.

I don't keep direct track of how much I spend, but I make a plan of what I'm going to buy as it's announced and keep a strong focus on my collection, which both prevents me from going broke and from getting out of hand with collecting and having a disjointed display

Yeah this is me in a nut shell. I don't have a budget for my plastic crack addiction but I do make a checklist of stuff coming out that I will pick up for my collection. (Its mostly Titans Return right now with a few select RID Warriors here and there)

I don't spend any money anymore, I bought all these long ago and have had them up in the attic, I just rotate which guys are out on display at a given time.

That's what I tell my wife anyway, room's full of mostly CW and TR lines...

At least thousands of dollars for 2016. Official and third party. Hell, I may not even be done for 2016.

I just make sure bills are paid, a certain percentage goes into savings, the remainder is mad money. I buy whatever I want, pending it falls in my mad money fund.

If it's a really expensive figure, I save the mad money or start a separate savings pool for it.

But, it depends greatly. It'll depend on your wage, monetary obligations, and family needs.

I make an awesome wage, but I have a wife and 3 kids. So, my purchases from 2016 were low. Between my sons collection and mine, only about $2500 roughly.

    :lolol

I could never do that though. My Wife would have to be onboard with it, or even better a collector herself.

Most of my MP/3P is all from ebay $ that I make selling other toys I find in thrift shops and yard sales.

So on average for every $100 I finally spend on my collection, it cost me about $10

Occasionally I just dole out for something but not very often.

    I have about 40 MP/3P and I'm less than $500 invested.

    Been collecting 3 yrs

    I spend too much.

I'd cry if I were to add it all up, so for sanity's sake I won't. :lol

Hey everyone! Thanks for the replies :)  In my late night brained state of mind, I didn't think about how... intrusive it might seem to ask about actual dollar amounts, so extra thank you for responding!
