Anyone could get that record. The weird thing is the people with the super colossal large collections just are not interested in applying. Don't ask me why, there are several well known collectors who have collections that are around five figures.

The last time they publicly posted the "biggest" from G (online article) I remember seeing and thinking, hmmm, I know of at least 3 individuals who have collections easy triple or quadruple that number (who have shown things publicly in photos for several years).

for my modest collection I have never and will never count them. I don't see the point and I'm always aiming to offload and reduce what I have, rather than increase. Space is limited and I cull things down to my very favorites or a best of line etc to stay around. I'm done to what I have on display in my room and maybe 5-6 big oversize tubs. And a year from now hopefully even less as I get no joy from what I can't even see.

The people with a super large collection probably don’t want to make themselves well known because they’ll probably get robbed or something like that.

All these + 5 Combaticons in storage makes 30. Dang I thought I had way less than that. The good thing about small collections is that they give space for very dynamic and eye-catching displays ;)

    That's the way!

80ish right now. Trying to keep a focused and tidy collection.
Most I've ever had at one point was in the low 400s.

Currently I have around 40, but that number is ever rising. My collection currently includes:

    Bayverse
    ----------
    WW2 Bumblebee
    Skyhammer
    Rescue Ratchet
    RotF Mudflap & Skids
    2007 Ironhide

    DotM Optimus Prime

G1 - Beastwars (WFC SEK, SS86, Retro Headmasters)
    -----------------
    Impactor
Optimus Prime + Sheeldron & Enerax
    Elita-1
    Arcee
    Optimus Primal
    Retro Hardhead
    Retro Highbrow
    SS86 Blur
    SS86 Hotrod
    SS86 Grimlock & Wheelie
    Hound
    Inferno & Red Alert
    Wheeljack
    Jetfire
    Rat Trap
    Blackarachnia

    Unicron Trilogy
    -----------------
    Optimus Prime
    Liger Jack
    Sparkplug (Minicon)
    Vector Prime
    Safeguard (Minicon)
    Metroplex
    Drillbit (Minicon)
    Override
    Evac
    Scourge
    Backstop

I do have WFC SEK Ultra Magnus and Battle Field Rung coming in the mail currently so 41 or so. Got my eyes on WFC SEK Omega Supreme too as well as the ARK that is apparently coming out. Same with Wingfinger, Rodimus, and Rhinox. Should probably get my hands on a Cheetor at some point too. I do have some Decepticons but they are kinda rag tag at the moment so I don't really count them as being part of the overall collection currently but I do hope to expand there presence at some point.

Well, apart from anything else (can you say "bullshit concept"?), Guiness will charge you a fee for deigning to recognise your "record". A rather large fee.

Anyway, I was going to bother with an answer (have been collecting since late 2019, have a couple of hundred HasTaks and 3rd party), but then I figured why bother working it out when I can point to a real collection?

Not mine, but quite probably the real "record" holder.

Used to tell people somewhere between 150 and 1,500. Probably need to revise that to somewhere between 250 and 2,500. Almost got done inventorying my G1 but then got more busy than I would like. Hopefully next month I can take a couple weeks off to at least finish that.

So I have approximately 150-200 Transformers scattered throughout my office at work alone. And considering what I have on display at home and in storage I have got to be at least at 2000+.

Way too many. A lot of G1 1984-1987.

A smattering of G2 and machine wars.

A lot of Beast Wars, pretty much everything from TM1 and TM2 years.

A handful of BWII and BW Neo

    Almost everything Beast Machines

All the "new" larger molds from RiD. None of the spy bots and some of the redecos.

Almost everything Armada and Energon. A lot of Cybertron.

    All of Classics 1.

    All of the original Alternators.

This is where I start to lose track.

A good chunk of Animated. A selection of Universe 1.0.

Too much of the movie figs up to and including Dark of the Moon and Human Alliance.

This is when I finally pulled the plug on being an active collector, though I dipped my toe in a time or two to get T30 Springer and Abominus.

Then I got back in with Siege, and have all the Siege and ER figures save Greenlight, ER Megs, and a couple of redecos. Everything for KIngdom is either in hand or on order.

Then there is a smattering of Masterpiece and 3P toys.

What does that get me to?

A few thousand. I was keeping a database but got lazy halfway through the prime wars stuff so it is way out of date. Keep meaning to fix that, but it is a little time consuming.
A lot of this does, as was mentioned, come down to how you count, which has been debated in many threads over the years.
