Has anyone ever wondered if Megatron has some sort of genetic or designed blind spot for Starscream?

Honestly, I kind of enjoyed seeing a merciful side of Megatron who is always known as a tyrant. More important, for someone like him who thinks himself above all others to say, "no one's perfect" is extremely surprising(although he could be no one but himself.....).

Still, how many times has he given Starscream a second chance?

Yet he picked Starscream over Dreadwing?

Well granted, Dreadwing hasn't done much better for the Decepticons than Starscream had since joining Megatron's forces, he pretty much failed every mission he went on, and Starscream just brought in the Omega keys which was indeed a great achievement. However, at least he's trustworthy enough to NOT to stab you in the back. Starscream is a snake, that will grab the best deal he can at the first opportunity he sees, and Megatron definitely knows that.

If Megatron's rationalization is that Dreadwing loyalty proved less than he expected, that is still a poor choice as Starscream's is even lesser. Even If he felt the need to spare him for bringing him the Omega keys, he shouldn't just allow him back into the fold. Yet Starscream somehow always manage to convince Megatron to give me a second chance, who knows how many more he'll get?

Starscream may be a dick but it is VERY easy to keep he in line. He has barely any will power, you can beat him up and he will follow you like a little duckling. Look at Patch, Megatron spent the whole episode throwing his most embarrasing moments at his face and by the end Starscream was whimpering and thanking god that Megatron allowed him back.

Dreadwing is a whole different deal. Dreadwing stands up for what he believes, Dreadwing doesn't take a shit, when you lost Dreadwing's loyalty you already lost him. You can't salvage it, the second Dreadwing lied to and turned his back on Megatron and was about to kill Starscream it was pretty clear who had to die and who had to live. When Dreadwing is walking down the hallway to find Starscream you can see the utter disgust in his face before he turns to face Megatron.

I agree with Shroobmaster; while Starscream is indeed a treacherous little prick who would gladly dismember you, and then gloat to everyone else while you lie bleeding, he's very easy to punt into place because he's also a cowardly little prick. He says it himself, that a good beating generally puts him back into line.

Dreadwing isn't a cowardly little prick who needs a foot on his face; Megatron lost his devotion, his loyalty, and he wasn't gonna be part of this crap anymore.

Megs killed the guy who would never fall under him again, and spared the coward who would be further in dept considering Megs just saved his life.

The plot designed Megatron so that he would always forgive Starscream.

To agree with others - Starscream's achievement list is better and Dreadwing's loyalty (his main marketable skill) was lost. I believe Megatron values achievements more than loyalty when it comes to Starscream because it gets things done and he honestly doesn't fear for his life if Starscream is the assassin. (Clearly, Starscream has bad luck/is terrible at it, what does he have to fear?)

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion Megatron enjoys dealing with his antics. Keeps him alert and makes for a great punching bag.

As long as "TransFormers: Prime" cames to it's end.
I wish they'll get on better this time.

Megatron said himself he would take Starscream back only because he was not someone he wanted to have as an enemy. So I think Megatron acknowledges that Starscream is someone to be reckoned with.

Please. Starscream is a annoying, persistant troublemaker, and Megatron simply prefers him making troubles for his enemies rather than him. He has his uses, after all. Why else Megatron placed SS as second in command in first place?

I took that as Megatron realizing that the more pathetic the situation Starscream's in, the better he thinks. I guess he thinks well under pressure. Megatron realized that Starscream in incredibly cunning when he has to be, and that kind of ability would better be served on his side than against. So, I guess I kind of agree with you, under the right amount of pressure (and it has to be a lot), Starscream is someone to be reckoned with. Plus, what shroob said. As treacherous as he is, ol' screamer is easy to put back in line.

    Bravo Shroob.

All Megatron wants are people in his ranks who A.) don't fail him and B.) are afraid if him.

He'll only give him one second chance. Followed by a third chance, a fourth chance, a fifth chance...
