I love mine but I'm TERRIFIED of breaking him, to the point where I haven't yet tried to transform him. I've just read too many horror stories about it to take the risk.

I'm certain that at some point I'll be at home, bored and slightly drunk, and then I'll give it a go. But until that time...Megs is staying as a bot and not a gun.

That's probably exactly the wrong time to do it...

Yeah, I think it'll come under the heading of things that seem like a great idea when slightly sloshed but seldom work out well:
    Calling your ex.
    Fixing the TV.
Telling your Boss what you really think of him.
    Transforming your MP-05.

Just got mine last night and got soooo pissed with it. I've transformed him three times now, but it's such a chore! I've never had such a difficult time transforming any toy before. Each time has taken me something like forty minutes!

The outer legs and arms keep snapping off (they're ball joints, so they're easy to fix - it's just annoying that they pop right off every time I move him). The arms just don't fully retract to gun mode - I know how to do it, but they're always off by half a milimeter so that the front and back ends just don't line up and don't snap together. Having to move the legs and chest were so difficult that I felt I was going to snap the whole thing in half. I was being so gentle, then eventually said "F**k it!" and pulled (or pushed) really hard and it finally worked.

Like the look, but damn disappointed that I spent $100 on him!

I've transformed mine to gun mode and back about twice since I got the figure, with nothing breaking. However, there are definitely areas that seem very fragile and I don't intend to switch him back to gun mode again unless absolutely necessary. The feet on mine are badly tarnished, even with very little handling, and the connector that holds the waist together in robot mode is weak. Definitely disappointed with this figure for the amount of money I spent on it.

I have one. He is broken in two places. one, The cannon which sits on has back. Second, Left side panel which covers the metal inner workings. This part can be replaced if you have an extra double ball joint.

i've transformed him several times now without incident

maybe it's because i got him after mp rodimus but the transformation didn't seem that bad. just the first snap of the shoulders downward was difficult.

The little hooks on his thigh panels sheared off almost instantaneously. Luckily, they're not super necessary for holding his gun mode together.

There's two tiny little tabs on his trigger halves that are quite disconcerting.

Just be careful and take your time. There should be NO reason for it to break if you treat it like a $100 collector's item and not a $10 retail deluxe. Seriously.
