Most, if not all current generations figures stem from somewhere in the comics now such as Armada Starscream or Rhinox. The best way to get animated generations figures is by designing figures to look more like this

It doesn't sound bad at all to me, designing them like that.

It has everything to do with it. Hasbro creates a line to have internal consistency. Most Animated figures don't blend in with the rest of Generations any more than a G1 figure would.

Best hope for any new Animated characters is another Botcon.

I could see them sneaking some of the animated figures into the RID line as one-offs, pretty easily. Ive only started going through Animated recently and I already kind of dig it, which makes me regret not getting into it sooner and not getting any of the figures. If they end up releasing all of the Dinobots in an RID/Animated style, I will have to break my pledge to avoid the RID line for monetary reasons (I quite like all the RID figures, so far).

While that's true for guys like Skids, Swerve, Tailgate, Springer, Brainstorm, and probably Sky-Byte it's not true for the majority. Goldfire Bumblebee, Tankor, Crosscut, Scoop, the Mini-Con combiner, and Armada Starscream were made by Hasbro first and then they told IDW to use them in the comics for the Dark Cybertron cross-promotion*. Same thing with Alpha Bravo and Off Road. And I'm pretty sure it was the same for Rattrap, Rhinox, and Waspinator, since those three didn't show up in the comics until after their toys and the Dark Cybertron pack-ins were announced, and Rhinox has been barely used at all. And then there's guys like Whirl, Nightbeat, and Huffer that don't look anything at all like their IDW selves, with Whirl being an update of his original toy with vaguely IDW-like legs and Nightbeat and Huffer being lazy retools.

People assume that IDW has a lot more power in what toys or designs get used than they actually do just because Hasbro's started some of their designs. But it's still Hasbro that's calling the shots on what's used where.

*Not sure if Barber and Roberts decided on Dreadwing or Hasbro did.

Arent the animated toys already good enough? What more would you want from them. They already look accurate enough and are posable enough. maybe characters that didn't get a toy the first time round but otherwise I think the Animated toys are fine as is.

I think what they want is MORE TFA toys, you know, fill in the empty slots.

We wont really, only characters, not aesthetics. So, they might as well not be made if you're looking for the Animated cartoon style of toys.

Now, if you're looking for just the unmade or Classics styled versions of said characters, then who knows. Otherwise, they would just release old molds or make an anniversary line just for them. But, id say not that im interested, far more older lines that would be homaged to first. Unreleased and only released in G2 characters and then Beast Wars and even RID and the....eh...ugh...Trilogy.

If Tankor showed up looking like very-not-g1 straight Beast Machines Tankor, then I'm sure we'll get Animated when the target demo get into their 20's. So like, 2017.

I don't know if it needs it. Those toys came out in that era of when the toys hit their engineering peak of quality. If they made them today I imagine they might be worst. If they make any I like to see the characters that never got a toy like the constructicons.

I'm not expecting any Animated figures in Generations ever.

As so many have already pointed out, the TFA aesthetic is so unique, that to make it fit within the Generations line aesthetic, the figures would no longer look like Animated characters anyway.

    So no point.

I wouldn't mind if they reissued some of the better toys from the original TFA line for the anniversary. I think that's more realistic than hoping for new figures that are pretty much guaranteed to satisfy no TFA fan.

I think the only Animated toys I'd want now are the 2 Constructicons & a Leader Omega Supreme.

Me personally, I want every toy the fans want made to be made, and let sales tell the tale. It may put to rest quite a few notions on what would fly in the market. TFA, though, fits in with the new RID aesthetic enough that they could easily sneak figures in to that line.

They should at least rerelease the last year of Animated toys for the 10 year. Most of them never made it to my area. Blackout in particular I would like to see.
