I got the complete series of Animated recently and it occurred to me its been about 6 years since the show last aired and we've gotten Armarda Starscream and Hot Shot already. How long do you all think it will be until we get Generation Animated Toys? Personally I'm guessing it will be on the show's 10 year anniversary.

    Probably not for a while.

I mean, it's defining characteristic is how it is stylistically incompatible with any other line. Plus, without Eric Siebenaler, I don't know if they could do the designs justice.

Technically we have had ROTF Lockdown, RTS Lugnut, and Generations Blitzwing has the face changing gimmick.

The only issues I see with Animated Generations figures is they kinda have to sit on their own, the armada/Beast Wars figures can fit in with the other generations stuff pretty well but Animated would look weird with the rest. But the biggest issue is that the Animated toys don't really need to be updated, they're all pretty damn excellent even today 6 years later.

    Came here to post this.

Though, they might be able to sneak out one or two in the RiD 2015 line, the aesthetics are kinda similar.

don't forget we are getting a little animated love with the repaints of snarl, swoop and lockdown coming out this year. If they would just repaint Animated Voyager class Starscream into his G1 colors and into a Thundercracker I would be set!

I dont think the animated figs need updating, but howabout some of the cast that never got toys like Omega Supreme, The Constructicons, Strika, Spittor, Brawn, Hotshot, Red Alert, Thundercracker, and Ramjet?

Honestly since we know Hotshot got to resin and possibly Marauder Megatron I don't see why they couldn't throw those designs into generations for the 10 year also possibly use the excuse to release the last 3 made molds in the US too (Wingblade Optimus, Hydrodive BumbleBeee and Blackout)

    This.

We'll definitely get homages for sure, but stylistically, we might never get full-Animated Generations figures. Unless Generations becomes the catch-all line from now-on.

It took 22 years before the Classics line revived G1. So by that logic, we'll see Animated Generations circa 2029.

What's a Generations Animated figure supposed to be? An animated character in Generations style? Then there's Lugnut, etc as mentioned.

Or is it supposed to be an updated "show accurate" toy? Umm.... weren't Animated toys already pretty well show-accurate?

I think most people really just want those cancelled/prototype/not released in america figures, not really updates of previously made figures. stuff like:

1.Blackout, Wingblade Optimus, and Hydrodive Bumblebee released in America

2.Thundercracker and Wasp to get a release anywhere.

    3. The pipe dream of getting Marauder Megatron and Hot Shot turned into actual release figures, with an even bigger dream of getting the Powermaster Prime figure made a reality.

    4. Even FURTHER down the pipe dream, getting figures of characters who were never planned to get figures, like Mixmaster, Scrapper, and Omega Supreme.

While I'd personally LOVE to see all of the above, I don't think we'll be seeing them in Generations any time soon, with the obvious clash of style that people have mentioned, not being able to really display them with other Generations figures, and Combiner Wars seems to be continuing well into 2016. Chances MIGHT be raised if IDW ever decides to make a TFA Season 4 comic, but prospects would still be low.

Our best bet for getting the first two tiers of figure (Wingblade, Thundercracker, already produced/planned for release figures) is the Platinum line, We'd just have to worry about them getting released in a gawdy paintjob :p

I think Hasbro said 90% show accuracy?

Im all for it if they use parts that dont become horribly floppy after a few transformations. Getting soundwave, or Ratchet to not fall over is a chore.

Well if the fans speak up i guess. Look at how many people wanted HA Jazz? Hasbro does listen but maybe people just dont want it enough. Personally it hink the movieverse nest Lockdown was great enough.

Making it to the resin stage means nothing. Those protos were probably destroyed.

Those are more like homages than actual Animated characters, since they were part of RTS and not actually Generations. (except Blitzwing of course)

Maybe figures inspired by it, we've seen it with Blitzwing and Lugnut.

That's another option.... Sky Shark, "OP", what was your idea about Animated Generations toys when posing the question?

We're still waiting on Generations Energon and Cybertron. Get in line.
