Once in a blue moon, a TFW member comes out and says he/she is done, or has lost interest in Transformers and/or Transformer toys.

So, how long do you think you'll be a fan?

I myself I am fully into it and most likely be for the years to come. Though every now and then I'll lose interest for a month or two and just do something else. For example. last April-May-Early June I started losing interest and I bought up a bunch of Lego Star Wars sets. I believe I jumped back in mid-Botcon time and I was just in time for all the news. Heck, I remember walking by the TF aisle and I saw the DOTM toys and was like "Wow, those are out?"

I think things have pretty much ran their course with me.

Not a clue. I wonder the age of the eldest member. I think once/if my children start making fun of me for having toys, I'll quit lol. I've lost interest a couple times and have thought about quitting numerous times. If not for 3rd party items, I would probably have been long gone once movie toys took over.

Probably when I get in high school which is next year. I feel like I need to grow up. Become half the man my dad is. I will keep a few for the memories.

 

Ya know... over the last 25 years I have invested a LOT into this hobby... for somethin that isn't even my own.

Often I wonder if I have gotten out of it proportional to what I put in.

 

Till I completed my Transformers movie collection, get my selected toys from Prime and the Transformers Prime series has ended.

 

When I lose interest in the hobby, which might take many many years or maybe never.

 

I don't see me ever losing interest in the Transformers brand. There's so much more to this Fandom than toys or fiction; I've made quality friends here for life. I could be perfectly happy going to Botcon to just hang out with those people across the country or from around the world and not buy a single toy. This hobby is truly a passion and much enjoyment has come from it.

 

I'll always be a Transformers fan. I may not spend as much on figures or associated merchandise, I may thin out my collection a little as time goes on and other hobbies may eventually take precedence in my life...but I'll never give up Transformers entirely. They're just too important a part of my life and have too many good memories for me.

That said, I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be in the fandom. After however many years I've been part of the fandom, I've seen all the arguments and discussions ad nauseum. And I'm getting tired of the incredible amount of negativity, which seems to be increasing over time. I find I enjoy this hobby a lot more when I'm not on the forums, surrounded by Transformers 'fans' who seem to hate everything about Transformers.

I plan to stay as long as the franchise persists. In saying that i will probably have extended periods of inactivity but will most likely come back into it in 2 years afterwards
