I am not talking about multiple batches that were intended as part of the initial run, but reissues that are at least 3 months apart.
Depends on the company and demand. Some have reissued while others havent. IF its entirely sold out (fairly quickly) and there is a lot of demand, there may be another run. If sold out in 6-8mos than I wouldnt expect to see another run. Maybe, but the etailers are the ones placing orders and they might not want to take stock in a figure that may have another competitive version coming out. The way the 3MP Market is right now, I wouldnt expect any reissues after 3 months.
Personally, I'd like some repaints before reissues !! But having said that, l missed Cubex Huff and that's probably the one figure I really want !!!
FT Shockwave and Dinos went through re-issues. KFC Blaster has had at least 3 issues (2 metallic one plain red). XTB Apollyon had I think 2 re-issues. Toyworld Devastator had G1, then G2 and is going for a re-issue of G1. MMC has reissued a few of their IDW's. Almost guaranteed that MMC will do a 2nd run of Tarn. Badcube Sunstreaker is due for re-issue and they're talking about Brawn and Huffer. As mentioned, it does happen with reasonable frequency but it really depends on the popularity of the figure. You also have upgraded/changed versions like XTB Ollie (and probably the above mentioned plain red Blaster) BC Warpath etc. I wouldn't expect re-issues of the Trailbreakers or Springers due to the sheer number of alternatives. And I think we've seen the last of 3P Megatron re-issues for the same reason.
Seems relatively common for stuff people actually want. The days of paying $500+ for Quakewave are gone.
That was the biggest mistake ever in my opinion, to reissue Quakewave. Was the hottest figure around now turned to a shelf warmer. I don't even care about the value, it's the fact the internet exaggerated the demand and now etailers are clearancing the figure.
quakeblast got several reissues but not a single repaint, i could go for a purple translucent at the price
Depends on the company, costs, limited run status or not etc. On average figures get between 2 to 4 runs total. The worse they sell the fewer runs they get, supply n demand and so on. But even popular stuff sometimes just doesn't get a second run either because it would be too costly to do more or the company has a very busy schedule and has to move on lest they slow down the production of a future product. Aka their isn't really a singular answer, it can get quite circumstantial. I honestly can't think of any figures I've had trouble getting that weren't initially super limited though. So with those if I really really want them I always make sure to get them the second they go for order. MMC Kultur I knew wouldn't be around for long, so snagged him asap. Everything mt sells on their webstore gotta grab that as quick as possible too.
