In TF4 Optimus clearly states that a Transformer's personality, memory and such are stored in their Sparks. And there has been more than once instance to conifirm that the spark is located in the chest of the robot. So how exactly is Megatron's head is "alive", and has the ability to control drones and get him transported to a new body when his spark is in his old body and has no connection with it? :inquisiti

Spark is in his head? Worked for Frenzy and Igor.

Brains also confirmed that the memories and data was in the heads of Megs and Sentinel. We have seen other TFs like Frenzy and Igor. TFs might have a secondary backup drive like a computer that is located in their heads. I mean they are living computers after all lol.

I mean, Megatron's navigation system was in his hand.

A backup drive in the head makes enough sense.

The other head to which they referred was Sentinel? Didn't know that...

To be specific, he said "Megatron's chromosomes". Make of that what you will.
Could be that each of those little bugs had a link to Megatron's spark (located in his head, the most logical way to explain it). So it's like they "downloaded" his spark/ essence unto Galvatron

Could also be explained down the road that the Allspark being rammed into him in the first movie did something to him. Once he had a power source attached to him to get the data from him it kinda was like life support until he transferred all his relevant data/memories to the new drive(body).

Because that was explained. Losing a head is non-fatal in Animated to start with, then his head got a surge of Allspark energy from Sari's key, booting it back up.

It seems to be the case. The only reason Megatron survived is because the filmmakers couldn't go on with Megs. After the conclusion of his character arc, as well as a final exchange that meant more than any other Prime-Megatron exchange in the franchise, and a fucking heated axe through his already severely damaged head, he still came back because like every other continuity, Megatron just never die.

At least he's in a new body with a new voice with a new name. Still the same character, however, as Brains himself said.

Don't forget, Megatron was revived with an AllSpark shard. Could be to say that played a factor, and kept him from ever fully going offline.

It's too bad Jazzs' spark was in his waist. I mean, he was unscathed other than his spark being ripped in two.

Perhaps the Allspark binding to his spark allowed for this to occur?

I guess the writer assumed most TF fans would see "the head situation" as sord of an allusion to TF:Animated or a parody of some sort, ya know.

According to Dreamwave's More Than Meets the Eye guide books, Transformers' Sparks (or at least G1 era Transformers' Sparks) are actually contained all throughout their bodies, and not just in Spark Chambers. Maybe Megatron has a similar set up?

"What would you be without me?"

    "Time to find out."

In a better movie, maybe that would be meaningful, but in DotM? Just a cool one liner. One of their few attempts at making Optimus Prime cool that actually works.

But any in the franchise? Chaos Theory would like to have a word. Here's one of many fantastic exchanges that all blow that little quip out of the water:

"Do you feel even the slightest remorse?"

"No. [...] Understand this. So long as you stand in my way- so long as anybody stands in my way, I will respond by killing. Murder on an industrial scale. Because in the final analysis, I would happily wade across a river of corpses, chest-deep in rust and grease and engine oil, just to crush the spark of the last Autobot standing. And I would do so not simply as a means to an end, no. I'd do it, Prime, because it would give me pleasure."

No, galvatron IS megatron. Not just his evil. Some how, thru a combination of tricking humans and insecticons, megatron transferred his being from a battered corpse of a head to galvatron.

"I am reborn." That's not something one says when one is a clone. Especially in a Bay movie that has NO shades of gray or deep scifi writing... No, galvatron says it, so until it's officially countered in the next movie (like all the other movies have been) we'll have to say that galvatron literally is the reincarnation of megatron.

Which is fine... Hopefully in tf5 he'll manage to accomplish something coz in movies 1-4, he's basically someone's bitch.

And they still let Megatron become a Autobot after saying all of that.
