I love the size class, and the figures that I have been seeing announcements for lately are amazing. I'm sincerely wondering how far the 3rd party legends scene can go. I personally would love to see it get as robust as the deluxe/voyager/MP size offerings but when I think about, say, the micro-bots like Bumblebee or Cosmos at that scale, I wonder if it will happen. I guess we are getting legends sized cassettes with the War in Pocket Soundwave, though, so anything is possible :p  What do you all think?

I've moved to collecting mostly just the two ends of the spectrum, Legends and Masterpiece. Legends are fun, cute, more affordable, and more of them can fit in a given space. Those are all good attributes. MPs are great for collecting definitive versions of figures with detail, articulation, display-worthy, nostalgia from the G1 toys, etc. So I hope that between Iron Factory, DX9, and whoever else comes along with a good product, we basically get the entire lineup in Legends scale.

Honestly, with as obsessed about scale as some people are, with the people complaining that MP-10 wasn't big enough or that every combiner should be as big as ToyWorld's Devastator, I'm surprised 3P Legends-class has taken off as much as it has. I'd imagine 3P will ride that wave as long as people keep buying them, especially as it seems like there's a lot less competition in that space.

Me personally, Legends-class toys are too small, most MPs too big. I guess I'm an odd duck, but I wish almost everyone was Voyager-sized.

Agree x10. Voyager size is by far the most fun for me! They always seem to have the best all-around results.

I LOVE legends-scale stuff, but I also can't believe how well these have done! I own 6-7, and two were gifts. The pricing keeps me away, but they are almost all good-looking and fun figures. Being used to $10 and under retail releases that are usually solid (Gen seekers, perfect example) makes me snub my nose at $30+ little guys.

I think because they are in such an affordable price range vs almost every other "high end" type of release coming out, some people probably splurge on them in a number of ways. Dr Wu stuff was always a "how do I get something cool and cheap to get free shipping" option, and I've almost done this countless times on WIP and IF stuff. But luckily I've held off. For now....(Lord Scorpion, stay out of my cart, you aren't cheap!)

Something sometimes overlooked is how legends dudes can compliment figures mainly under-sized when compared to how people think they should be. Take CW Skylinx - PERFECT if you size him up in a bundle of legends groups, but otherwise seems odd at just voyager class. The deluxe Skyshadow also looks more impressive and sensible terrorizing legends guys.

Agree on the pricing. That needs to come down a bit in order to attract more customers to the Legends scale.

Don't complain about pricing. It's completely in line with 3P vs HasTak at other scales.

I really hope we get a full most of characters from 84 to 87 of the G1 stuff and a good chunk of the IDW big names. I have most of the DX9 and Iron Factory figures plus the Shapeshift Inc and UT sets. It would be cool if Iron Factory would get their prices back down.

I want someone to make some minibots that scale with the rest of their line ups. Someone needs to be the first to make a tiny Wheelie or Cliffjumper. Who doesn't want teenie tiny articulated Cosmos?

I wasn't complaining, just saying that my purchase habits will favor bigger figures almost every second of the day.

I even mentioned the affordability of their pricing, so...yeah. LoL.

Absolutely love them when done well, hulkie from dx9 is brilliant and would love an entire line like it. It will be hard though with even smaller characters

I'd say we've seen the peak with IF's stuff already complexity wise. If figures were to get any more complex the costs to the customer would be prohibitive to big aspects of the the scales appeal - affordability and simplicity.

I'd rather see them simply be more clever and efficient with design, use as many ball joints as possible and so on. Very excited for IF's Bruticus, I think he's going to set the standard for legends combiners despite not really doing anything mindblowing or new it seems as far as combiner engineering goes, just being smart and refined about it.

What's weird is in a way this doesn't feel like "legends" scale to me anymore so much as a return of a lot of the g1 and g2 sizes that were used for toys, such as with the original combiner sets, the g2 cyberjets and so on. IF's stuff especially feels like a natural continuation of that.

Agreed, somewhat more similar to scout sized figures like breacher (he was awesome)

I'm more than happy with that. I would just a company to commit to doing a whole line and say what their plans are. It's annoying to think that war in pocket is moving but you have no idea how long they will run for, I don't want to start collecting if it's only half a line.

The 3rd party legends are pushing a size that is bigger than hasbros current legends, that gives them more space and scale to work with.

Physically though i am surprised people are surprised that they can make the things they do at legends scale, because i know they can. They can make anything they need to... Don't forget they made WST triplecgangers and they are even smaller. Hasbro's legion size carbots from a few years back are actually too small for curent 3p legends scale so physical size being to small to make is not and issue.

The most challenging thing to make would be a frenzy and rumble that is mean't to fit in SW. And personally speaking that meansit would make them smaller than i would like their characters in my collection to be so i don't really care if they would fit in a SW or not.

Yea I agree with that, not fitting in soundwave is not a deal breaker for me. Considering the MP rumble/frenzy looks a tad too small for what I'd like I wouldnt mind them being a bit bigger in proportion to Soundwave

I'd be happy with say 4 size points but with DX9's current size as the standard base character size. Not bothered too much about sizing each bot but as long as say the magnus scale is bigger than hotrod scale I'm happy.

I'm hoping IF starts producing Beast Wars characters, cause the legends scaling is perfect for those characters.

It can go only as far as people are will to pay for. I'm hoping for a full line of combiners myself. Would also be neat if someone did the DJD in this scale. I'm kinda hoping MMC will give it a shot.
