I got the update on my PSP and I tried the Skype deal. I called my friend and it actually worked. I did it a second time, but the third time I tried it, it asked me for my Skype Credit number or something like that. I take it this isn't a free service?

 

Not to land lines or Cellphones. But calls to other skype internet devices should be free.

 

You get 1 free 10 minute call after you first get Skype. Then you can only do Skype to Skype calls either: PSP tp PSP, or PC tp PSP.

 

PC (or similar) to landline/cell is only like $29 a year, I went ahead and paid it and use it from time to time. Sure beats getting up and grabbing the telephone sometimes.   Not that it's lazy, it's just convenient.

 

I might do it because when my cel is out of charge I can use the bloody PSP to call and 30 bucks a year isn't that bad.

yea, come to think of it, this isn't a bad deal at all, minus one question. how is the lag, as far a wireless systems like the PSP?

 

It's by no means landline quality, but I've not had too many problems with it.

 

I've got to ask, where did you guys get the headsets to use Skype? I've gone to EB, TRU, etc. and none have a Microphone for PSP, or if they do, I'm afraid it'll be incompatabile with the PSP-2001 series...

 

You have to buy two things to get Skype to work: A PSP Remote that's currently only avaiable with the headphones, and a PSP Headset
