Regardless of which name you hear, you tend to think of one over the other, just as more people think of Optimus Prime instead of Orion Pax.

Which do you think of more, the turbo-revin' young punk from TFTM, or the leader of the Autobots?

I see him as that young and upcoming Autobot.

 

Hot Rod was comfortable in his own armor plating, confident, care free and fun loving. Rodimus tried very hard to be confident in a position he was never really suited for in the first place.

I think they're the same guy.

I feel differently about Orion Pax and Optimus Prime, at least with G1. They don't seem at all like the same character - it's like Orion Pax was built into a completely new being.

But I've always seen Hot Rod and Rodimus as the same, especially given the character's self doubts about his leadership and his expressed desire to be just "Hot Rod" again.

 

I see him as Hot Rod, mostly. He just seemed more himself as Hot Rod.

My transformer geek inside me is screaming that they should be the same guy. But on the other hand this is good; now we get both awesome characters without losing one.

Wouldn't i be nice if we can have that with HotRod and Rodimus too?
On that other hand that would also be weird and maybe wrong. But god damn it. I was my cake and then i wantna eat it too.

 

I love the concept of the chosen one, and so their both the same guy and my fav TF of all time.

 

Lots of Rodimus threads lately.  

I tend to think of him more as Hot Rod, just because he shows up in the fiction as Hot Rod way more often than Rodimus Prime. But I love both. He's cool when he's cocky, and he's cool when he's insecure too.

 

I always thought he was a better more interesting character as Hot Rod.

I always like the upcomming hero leader charecters same way why i like TFA Optimus Prime. Still prefer the name Rodimus anyways.

 

He's the same character to me. Getting the Matrix in the movie didn't turn him into a new person, just a new body, or at least that's how it seems to me.

That said, I prefer his name being Rodimus even when not a Prime.

 

Well since i now love the IDW Rodimus (thankyou Ongoing #19-21) i'm going to say Rodimus Prime.

The BlackThorn 3D comics "implied" that Rodimus and Hotrod were 2 different characters.Its a shame then never did more then 3 of those books

I prefered him as Hot Rod.He was more interesting and colorful than that dull, stone-faced Rodimus.Rodimus complained too much if you ask me.

 

Well. He IS the same guy. XD But i do tend to call him Hot Rod more often than Rodimus.^^
