Vehicle mode vs robot mode. State why if you want.
Vehicle mode. Like the surprise.
Bot mode, so I don't have to go through the arduous task of ever transforming them.
Alt mode. The first transformation should be fun and a reveal, it's nearly always easier to unfold a vehicle into a robot than to compact it down.
I actually prefer robot mode, as it's usually easier to use the box for storage. My usage for packages is storage if I choose to return a figure to its package. My choice also presupposes that I keep my packages after opening (which I do).
That is why I was [email protected] when MP44 came packaged in vehicle mode.
Bot mode, as it's usually easier to tell if your toy has two left hands or a missing face in the store before you buy it.
+ paint defects too
Yup, these are exactly why I prefer robot mode.
Robot mode since it is the primary mode I'll have them in as well as problematic things mentioned above.
Also, evenly split as I type this up with 9 and 9. Neat.
I made it 10 to 9 in favor of vehicle mode, my bad.
But I honestly do prefer vehicle mode, as the transformation to robot mode is almost always more intuitive and enjoyable than transformation to vehicle mode. I also loved how G1 packaging showed such beautiful robot mode art next to the TF in vehicle mode.
Being able to spot defects in robot mode is a good point, but I mostly buy my TFs online, plus I live in Japan and can easily get Takara to fix or replace a TF for just about any reason (the major exception being the misassembled LG Blackwidow...)
I could care less how they are packaged. As long as the figure inside is in one piece. When I get them home figure goes on shelf and package goes into the blue bin.
Yep, the initial robot mode "reveal" was always part of the fun and payoff for me. I can count on one hand how many toys out of the over 3,000 I own had major problems like two left hands or paint chipping, even when they were packaged in vehicle mode.
I can't decide... I like both, so to see how they look in either mode. I buy Transformers for both modes, not just one.
The "seeing defects" in robot mode is very compelling, but so is seeing the vehicle's sleekness, if it's snaps together well.
Oh.. (like a kid in front of the ice cream bar) what to do what to choose? ahhhhhhhhhhhh......... I was told there wouldn't be math!
Dont really have a set preference, but as has been mentioned above its nice to see any potential defects when packaged in bot mode since to me thats the more important mode.
I don’t care what the figure is packaged in, what I do care about are those dumb slants the siege boxes have >:[ can’t we have normal square boxes
I just don’t see the deal in caring about how the figure is packaged who knows maybe I’m just some uncultured caveman. A box is a box for me
In reality it doesn't matter to me, but if its in alt mode you get the more enjoyable alt to bot reveal instead of bot to alt, which is kinda underwhelming sometimes. Plus, I don't really check for paint defects since most of my stuff is ordered online anyways. I completely understand the convenience of bot mode packaging though, especially nowadays.
Vehicle mode. The pictures on the packaging should show off the robot mode just fine.
Robot mode, because I'm terrible at transforming anything but the simpler TFs.
