Ya like I said it's all been locked up in storage for 6 years and right now it's just an ocean of boxes so I suppose looks can be deceiving. I just bought a house the end of March so I'm still unboxing and eventually plan to set up a nice display...if only Ikea would restock some damn Detlofs already!

Can you imagine one of those storage auction hunters finding this? Had 1 or 2 comment to me on occassion about not paying my storage bills. :)

When you start buying toys you don't like and ask if it's a big deal

Oh I like toys. But I think when your home (not saying the person I quoted has his house like that) looks like it belongs in an episode of Buried Treasure or Hoarders.....then.....yeah.....you get the idea :D

I have always been able to make ends meet and I've been very fortunate to build the collection I have and have a very understanding wife. The time as now come though that my wife has asked me to purge my collection so I can move my toy room to another room in the house (I'm consolidating my man cave & my toy room into one) so she can have a room to call her own. We need the $ that will come from selling parts of my toy & video game collection to help ends meet. It's tough out there these days and having two small children doesn't make things easier.

I was upset when my wife first asked me to do this, but the more I've thought about what I'm going to do the more at peace I'm feeling. I hope to be able to retain G1/G2 since that is what got me collecting in the first place...the toys I grew up with.

So for me it's not that I've spent too much or that I don't have room for my toys - it's simply time for me to be a Godly man/husband and support my family.

When you realize what you spent this year and would rather not post that number here. Also hope the wife never finds out that number. Let's just say, OUCH.

I literally just updated my spreadsheet of cost and I was like, ouch after looking at the sum after each time I updated for a new figure I got.

I consider it both an addiction, and fun. It's a hobby! I can't imagine collecting too much. I suppose when it gets in the way of more important payments? Yeah, that's too much. If you can keep a balance between them, COLLECT THE FUCKING NIGHT AWAY, MAN.

Oh, I suppose if it gets in the way of a social life. But people suck. Toiz <3.

I'm about to back off, my room is full. My other room at my house 100 miles away, is full. Recently when I've been opening shit, it gets transformed once or twice, then I put it back into the box. I've been going pretty full bore since 2001 or so, only had a few weeks without buying something new. I'm not done, I love my TF's, but lately I'm buying stuff for the sake of it rather than because I WANT the toy. I'll get the love back, but I seriously need to re-think what I'm getting because my current plan oh "fucking everything!" is getting a little difficult to manage.

I myself just went on a DOTM kick and ended up selling 70% of it. I kept the essential ones like the Voyagers and got rid of the rest. Just got wrapped up in the hype. Since then I learned a valuable lession and only aquire the ones that I can look over at and always love, not just the ones that look cool! I also took the plunge and bought another shelve to space them out more so there not so squished together.

Eventually I will run out of room and will have to move! I own a studio, but for now I am fine... Unless I get floor to ceiling shelves... Huummmm ponder ponder.

It's really starting to show that I'm running out of room to put TFs in my room. But it's more like the need for more shelves than having too many toys...maybe.
