I've not seen this discussed on this forum at all, and I thought it'd be interesting to run a survey of sorts:

For those of you currently buying IDW's Transformers comics, how do you do so? Buy paper copies? Buy digital copies? Or wait and buy trade paperbacks/hardbacks?

Personally, I buy TPBs, 'cause I've not got a local comic shop, they're sturdier, and preferable (IMO) to an online-view only digital copy.

I'm impatient and dumb so I choose the most expensive route.
Physical floppy copies for me on new comic book day.

I'm cheap, but patient. I get the trade paperbacks.

This. I voted digital because that's where I get them first, and I don't buy every TPB. I mostly wait for hardcovers too.

Physical issues. I've tried Comixology, but I can't get used to reading comics on my laptop and/or phone. I'd get TPBs but with the way RID & MTMTE are going, I just don't have the patience to enjoy a fix every 6 months or so!

I always get the physical issues, I buy TPBs whenever I've got a little extra dolla to spare, and I recently started buying the odd digital copy here and there when I can't pick it up on the day.

TBP's only....just have no interest in reading on a phone or pad. It's okay for sneak peeks, but I want to hold that glorious comic in my hands and read over and over. :)

Its funny this poll is on today. I buy hard copies but today I am annoyed that my comic shop closed early. I guess its only one time but their notice was crappy because I was there last wed and I don't remember seeing a sign. Unless I looked online for the hours which I never do, I could have rearranged my errand schedule and gone there first. Now I am missing out on both tf issues today and I am normally patient but these have been so good lately I cannot wait.

So, I have been looking into comixology more and more and I like what some of you do and buy digital and trades. I like supporting my LCS and trades are cheaper at amazon so that would cut out the support completely. The thing holding me back is I still can't decide if digital is for me.

TPBs only. As good as the comics are right now, the monthly floppies are way too expensive for me to justify buying them and I'm patient enough to wait a few months for a chunk of the story all at once. Even when/if I do get a good tablet, I'll probably still stick to getting the trades, rather than the individual digital issues.

Issues for MTMTE, TPBs for everything else. MTMTE is the only comic I buy so the dollars a month it costs fazes me little.

I buy the digital copies. The LCS is kinda far away, and they have a tendency to not have books in stock when I go there, even if I have a pull list put aside. So I have a Kindle Fire, and I buy them on Comixology. Normally I wait a month until the prices get cut in half (like on Batman, Ghostbusters and the like) but I make the exceptions for the Transformers books.

Well, it seems I'm spending extraordinary amount of money...

I read it through comiXology first. Then I order every covers for preservation, in addition of one copy for actual reading. And I buy TPBs as well.

    Digicom, digital comics

    Digital comics are the champions!

Yeah, thank you Comixology. Before I discovered that, it used to be from Ebay.
