I used to collect the comics quite obsessively. Read them at Comixology, bought TPBs from internet, and ordered paper copies of every covers. Until I left the board after reading MTMTE #15. I've yet to overcome
    the death of Pipes
, but lately it's too tempting to read them again. I've been avoiding spoilers as possible, but they pop up from everywhere!

...So I'm back. But I'm not sure how I should buy the comics. ComiXology, TPB, hardcover... It's so hard to pick one medium. Would anyone give me an advise?

    what I have purchased:
    - comiXology: TDOOP, MTMTE #1~15, RID #1~16, Autocracy #1~12, and the six Spotlights.
    - paperback: whole Phase One, MTMTE v1~4, RID v1~3, Autocracy, and Dark Prelude.
    - paper copies: every covers I could buy of TDOOP, MTMTE #1~11, and RID #1~11. cover A of each Megatron Origin issues in addition.
(Yes, I told you I was obsessive... The shipping fee was higher than the contents themselves. I gave it up now, though.)

I get digital on release, since it's convenient, but I also pick up the TPBs down the line as I like having proper hardcopies.

I guess that's the best way: digital for read and TPB for preservation. Maybe I can look for hardcovers too...

I drive to a comic shop and pick up individual issues from my subscription every month.

ComiXology for me now as well, though for over 15 years I bought the individual issues and tpb's.

Always single issues and TPBs for me, I much prefer having the physical copies. Sometimes I'll triple dipple with the digital version if I'm not going to my comic shop for another week or two and really want to read an issue. I'm not a massive fan of it, if I had a tablet I'd probably use it more though, but guided viewing is a great way to not accidentally spoil surprises.

I buy TPBs of older series from my local store, get new issues from TFAW.com and get Windblade and MTMTE on Comixology as well. Ideally I'd get everything locally but I can't afford the Australian markup.

During the Dreamwave days I bought every cover and all the incentives. I purchased the original mini retailer incentive for like $75 when it was a "hot" comic. After they crashed and burned, I learned my lesson and starting only buying TPBs. It helped that IDW was so alternate cover heavy when they started.

So yeah, these days, I only purchase tpbs of everything now, non-tf comics too. Only single-issues that I still buy are Silver Age and Bronze Age.

Wow, pretty much me. I loved those DW incentive covers, but yeah, now I think "What was wrong with me?"

Only HCs or TPBs for me now.

I preorder individual (physical) issues each month from an online provider and have them shipped near the end of the month, along with everything else I want from the month's issue of Previews. Leaves me a bit behind but it's a nice discount. For runs I am behind on or don't buy single issues of, I just buy physical TPB's. Filling up a shelf with them now.

I see myself migrating to digital one day, but not until I get a nice tablet to read them on (an investment I still haven't made since they went mainstream).

Any comics I buy I buy at the comic store. Physical copies are the only way I'll read comics. I'd rather just not read it otherwise.

I buy digital comics in the comixology app on my phone and tablet and on paper I buy TPBs in Amazon. By the way: The Xperia Z2 Tablet is awesome! :D  I only started buying a lot of comics on comixology because it's so awesome to read comics on it. And it's water proof, so I don't have to worry, when I read while in the bath tub :D

Bath tub? The only true way to read comics is while taking a dump. :D  Can't remember the last time I read a comic not on the porcelain throne.

Physical issues because I'm impatient, TPBs for all further reading bouts.

Comixology is the only option for me. Physical comics don't come anywhere near me sadly.
