I just spend an hour trying to figure this one TF i just picked up and got nowhere.

    1. Is there a website or listing of all TF's that peeps use?

    2. If not, how do yall peeps ID them?

    Thanks!

    oNe

p.s. here is the TF in question if anyone cares or better yet knows who he is?

Glad you got the answer, but still going to send this one to toys... just in case there's further discussion.

Well he didn't come with accessories so provided he is in good condition that is essentially what he cost new when he came out.

Personally I think it is one of the better legends molds from the Cybertron era.

    Sarcastic answer:
Being familiar with every TV series and the on-screen characters helps narrow things down.

    Real answers:
    -tfu.info
-pretty much any message board, posting pics is a must, otherwise you're letting people guess what you have
    -transformerland.com

$4 for a loose Legends class figure is a reasonable price for any line.

This site doesn't appear to work properly, when I ask it to identify a black part it goes nowhere. (edit, it does work now, weirdly)

But while we're here, can anyone help me identify this piece?

It must be recent, because it's basically hollow but I can't for the life of me remember who it belongs to.

Also while we're here, maybe the mods should rename this thread to 'The official help identify my unknown part!' or something.

It'd be a good thing to be able to ask on the fly.

    Edit
Aaah, apparently it's Arcee's blaster from TFP: RID! Transformerland.com to the rescue!

to id figures people here use several methods :

    1. there own knowledge from collecting and see the figures them selves.

    2. websites set up to help Id

    3. they do what you do and ask for help from others who are more knowledgeable.

    4. for G1 Figures there are book available that you can use to id your figure but beyond that there is really not much in book form.

I usually start by looking for the Hasbro/Takara stamp on the figure and look at the copyright year. Then from that I determine what series it belongs to and then use our resources pages to find the picture of the transformer I have in hand.

There's a website?! I just search google with something like this, for example I couldn't figure out what my Ironhide Spychanger KB toys version was, so I just googled "Blue Truck Spychanger" got nothing so I just went to tfwiki.net and went through spychanger pages XD
