Fan Art: How do i remove the backgrounds of pictures?

    I was planning on taking all of the full body stock art of the fembots from transformers animated and make one compilation of them, but i have encountered a bit of a problem. What is the easiest way to get rid of the back grounds of he pics so that all that is left is the character them self? if i have to do it manually with an eraser tool on ms paint i might just scrap the idea of using the stock art and instead trace each character model into one pic then color.
