You know, the insecticons, Predacons, Maximals, Vehicons, Quintessons, Etc... I mean, they are just as important as the Dinobots...
First of all mate there are only 2 factions. Autobots. Decepticons. And the subgroups like Constructicons & Dinobots. Frankly speaking that's more than enough. Period.
The Insecticons are already in Transformers 2 as tiny robots. For the Dinobots, the movies don't like size changes so I see 2 ways of doing the great sized dinobots in Transformers 3 : 1. Grimlock as a giant robot who turns into a giant T Rex. Giant T Rex can be used to fight the giant Decepticon aircraft carrier. The T Rex can be an extinct Cybertron species or an extinct earth species. 2. 6 Autobots can combine into a giant T Rex like creature to fight Decepticon combiners like Devastator.
If The Fallen is in the sequel, Unicron Vs. Primus might work for a third one. I'd love to see unicron in a movie.
So far, the movies have made some use of the beast forms such as Scorponok and Ravage. I assume these are forms of extant or extinct Cybertron beasts. I hope Transformers 3 can use such beast characters like Primal, Cheetor, Rattrap, Blackarachnia, Silverbolt, Botanica, Airazor, Tigatron, Predacon dragon, Waspinator, rampage, etc. The movie people did not like the idea of robots using spaceships so they probably also won't like the idea of robots as headmasters driving a larger robot.
I for one would like the Quintessons in the movieverse. They could be the original builders of the Allspark or Unicron's evil minions/worshippers as '86 movie's original intent was. Have them assist Megatron in building an army or something like that. As Maximals, etc, I don't really think they should be included. Have a Beast Wars-style movie somewhere down the line.
The Protectobots, Aerialbots, Technobots, and Dinobots come to Earth after recieveing Prime's first movie's message delayed. The Combaticons, Stunticons, and whatever else I missed come too and the combienr groups fight. They start to combine at the fight's climax and then start to get out of control even fighting the other combiner groups in their faction. The smaller Autobots and Decepticons are becoming casualities (spelling?) by "getting in the way" Prime and Megs have to team up to stop the madness of the combiners killing everything around them. Idk but a good subplot?
People need to understand that the movies are really meant for the general audience first, and then the fans. Getting too into the mythology, I believe, would not interest the general audience.
