How can you not believe in robot god primus. When primus is literally the fucking planet you walk on. well, in most continuities. how do you disprove that Atheists? How do you disprove primus not existing when primus literally transformed into his robot mode in cybertron. I mean both alpha trion and vector prime have interacted with cybertronians in the present day, when they are part of the 13, And unicron is seen as evil satan man and who has also been seen multiple times. how is a robo god far-fetched when you have a fucking planet who eats other planets >:[ Maybe I'm insane and have created something that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. who knows.
Mostly because nothing any of the remaining 13 members, or the two godbots do in the present day proves that they're anything but hella old hella strong machines. And Primus is usually kinda dead. Basically atheist or agnostic Cybertronians don't deny the existence of the 13, the Guiding hand, or Primus. They just doubt they are actually divine. To quote Futurama: "We believe he was built, and was a very good robot, but he is not our Messiah."
Well, usually everything about Primus, Unicron and the Thirteen happened so long ago that no one remembers them. There's a reason all of those things are considered legends and outright mythical at times.
Because other explanations for their origins exist? Take the G1 cartoon for example. You’ve got Vector Sigma, which is a supercomputer, not a divinity, and the Quintessons. In the Movieverse and Animated, you’ve got the AllSpark, which is a mystic artifact but not explicitly divine, nor of divine origin.
Well, here in the real world, we have proof that the earth is round, vaccines work, and that climate change exists (and is very much the fault of the petrochemical industry) And yet we have flat earthers, antivaxxers and climate deniers. So yeah, it would not surprise me in the least that there are indeed Cybertronian atheists in universes where Primus and Unicron have active roles in modern times.
You can easily not believe in Primus when Primus literally doesn't fucking exist. There's plenty of continuities where that's the case.
They can recognise Primus and Unicron as powerful beings but can easily question their divinity, both those so called gods have demonstrated lacking omnipotence, omniscience and certainly weren't omnipresent. Them being creators is also questionable given they still had requirements, any rational Cybertronian would see that as no different to their own species needing tools and resources to build. They could also be atheist if they have a million conflicting claims and beliefs translated and reinterpreted by many separate religions and their many separate denominations. THey would probably believe or at least run with a belief if they lived in a bubble or had "it's undisprovable therefore truer then not true" crammed down their throats.
Atheism is actually not a claim to be disproven. It's not even a claim at all. It's just one stance on one issue - that there is no sufficient evidence to accept any claims that at least one deity exists. Being an atheist simply means, in its raw form, that you're just not convinced that a god exists. Any Cybertronian can be an atheist till they learn about Primus. Or, they can reasonably be an atheist of the others informing them about Primus lack convincing information about Primus. So yeah. Totally possible.
All of the above. In the cartoon continuity Unicron isn't an evil God and primus doesn't exit. In the Marvel continuity only a few knew that Primus was the planet and resided in the core. And the same goes for any other continuity: not everybody knew the facts and were just told that Primus and Unicron exist, without anything to back it up. And that's not proof just something you've been told about something long ago. Some will accept this, some will find another explanation. Also, a couple of million years of all out war that decimate the population and show TF dying horribly all around you can result in two things: you either become very religious because it's the only hope you have, or you conclude that no god would allow this to happen/continue.
When history gets told by multiple people and told into more exciting stories the truth gets distorted. Look at the Guiding Hand. What they really look like. The Legend. Our history is the same in legends, religion and media. When you think of Pocahontas what do you think of? The Disney Movie or the historical facts? Hercules, Thor, Robin Hood and more iconic names and places. To prove God exists you either need to believe blindly or proof you are not some stage swindler. In Cybertrons case, take a tour to the planets core. In the IDW verse Shockwave took the stories he heard and made a paradox.
Cybertronian atheists are show in the old IDW continuity where the existence of the divine can't be proved. Even when those supposedly divine individuals are encountered "in the flesh", they are mortal bots. IDW Primus simply is the first Cybertronian and IDW Unicron is a constructed living weapon.
Because everyone sensible knows that it's Jupiter hurling spears from his throne. You can see them in the sky, for once!
