I kinda fell off after wave 2, but I asked a friend recently and apparently these characters are still not in the game. Not one character card for any of them? Seriously? What gives?

It's insane we don't have all the main 86' bots represented yet. Have the creators talked about this at all?

If I can get my favorite characters represented, I may be tempted to jump back in.

 

I'm sure we'll get to those characters eventually. But I'm willing to bet the designers are trying to figure out a good way to implement Unicron before they do an 86' movie wave.

 

From my understanding, they also release sets based on what playability within the set. If a character doesn’t fit the play pattern, it gets put off to another set. We’ve had some really out there characters so I’m sure they will get around to it. Just give it time with the thousands of characters to choose from

 

Cause this doesn't follow the G1 cartoon timeline? Seriously, there are tons of characters we haven't seen yet. Chill those horses, their time will come.

 

They already have Arcee, Hot Rod and Springer though. So they aren't following any sort of timeline.

I don't think you can really think of it in any sort of continuity context when they allow you to mix your team with Autobots and Decepticons or have a team of three different Bumblebees.

Mixing factions is very IDW'ish. Regarding teams of different Bees (or Prowls or Skywarps for that matter). This is first and formost a card game, which makes continuity context rather irrelevant.

Anyway, as far as character selection goes - I am more into the idea of giving us cards like Apeface or Spinister in correlation with the toy lines. I just think it is cool, can't really explain why.

But I am sure once the figure out how to do Unicron we will get some version of his heralds - perhaps even as a new faction? We will see how the Bounty Hunters do.

 

And Ultra Magnus! Haha, feels like we keep generating popcorn movie characters.

 

Well, looking back at the Titans Returns toyline, I think it is safe to assume we will get Galvatron and Scourge in Wave 5.

Cyclonus would be cool to see in another Wave with another focus on Combiners (still missing Defensor, Bruticus and others).

 

The fact that we never got Defensor or Bruticus is also shameful.

How many Primes, Bumblebees, Starscreams and Megatrons do we need before we get all the classic characters represented at least once?

 

I think we will get the rest eventually. I can see an Combiners Return set with Bruticus, Defensor, Victorion, Sky Reign, and perhaps even Galvatronus?

We've only had 4 waves come out. They will come eventually, and the big name characters will almost always get representation. It's always going to be someone's first wave, so the marketing team needs kids to be able to pull an Optimus Prime or Megatron in the wave.

I was fine with some of the most iconic 86' characters not being in the first couple waves. The third wave I was starting to get a bit annoyed. Now that we're in the fifth I'm just flabbergasted.

 

Add Abominus to the Combiner list.

 

Eventually they will come. But if it still urks you that much, take it up directly with WotC (and best of luck).

 

Their doing that on propose:
If they just gave us all the main G1 cartoon show characters. People would just collect the first set, maybe the second and then fall. This way the people who fell off will come back in a later wave and hopefully stay on cause it's a good game.

My guess: Siege(wave 3&4) is the war on Cybertron. Earthrise which i think it going to be wave 7? Will be when the war is on earth. So some time after Earthrise we we get a "Choasbringer" wave is when we'll finally see Galvatron
