And have to adopt 1980s vehicle modes as disguises?
How about no?
That was a planned script for TF3, and was scrapped.
I like the idea though, it may have made a great reboot and Bay can handle period films as PEARL HARBOR and PAIN & GAIN have shown.
No i like the little references to generation 1 vehicle modes like in the first film with the beetle next to bumblebee and now in AoE with the G1 Prime cab. I don't think a G1 inspired movie would work to be honest.
I'm a Geewunner and, no! Just, no.
No it wasn't.
There would have to be a good plot related reason to situate the story in the 1980's ; whether that's by time travel or otherwise.
In the context of the established storyline.... I don't see any other reason than a visually cosmetic reason.
Why? It wont make there designs boxier.
Time travel just makes thing more complicated, I guessing they would have to call Swindler in order to get back to the right time, lol
Would be interesting at least, to have a reboot to the films, a fresh start.
But seeing how these films are going and getting bigger I just don't see it working.
Transformers 5 Days of future prime?
How about a movie that's just SET in the 80's? Or made like with an 80's film-making style? Time travel is so unnecessary and forced if you want an 80's setting for Transformers, it's almost painful. Shit, maybe they just landed in the 80's and kept their modes. Anything but fucking time travel.
Yeah...No thank you. I'll pass on that.
Okay, first of all, hell no.
Second of all, time travel is too cliche at this point. No way you can twist it without it being uninteresting.
Because Muh 1984?
