So I wanted to get rid of the back bits on Siege Hound’s alt mode to make it a little more like his original alt mode. It also looks pretty good in robot mode. It removes the black rectangles from his back, so you can’t see them from the front. Back view, you can see what all I took away here. Back piece flipped up, kind of helps to see what all I did. But Jobby, what about the giant hole in his back and the lack of a 5mm hole? Well, that's what this little thing is for! I cut up a Constructsbots piece (from the Optimus and Megatron 2-pack, I believe it was Megatron's) by getting rid of the peg at the bottom and getting rid of a bit off the top. Hound: You sure this thing's safe? It just slides into his back, and it fits rather well. I may decide to glue it in someday though. The thing that stops me from just glueing it in though is the alt mode, and how good it looks without it. It definitely doesn't look bad with it, but I just prefer the look of it without the back piece. There sadly is a giant hole in the alt mode without the full back piece though. I may have to do something about it. But what did I do with the rest of his back? I turned it into a proton pack, of course! Wait, that's not a shield! Here's a better look at the completed pack. I decided, since the Ghostbusters were in town, why not have some more Cybertronians help out! Back of it, it just attaches via 5mm peg, so it can go onto most Siege figures, with some exceptions like Megatron or Optimus. And attached to Hound's back. I figure it's only fitting as it came from him. From the front it looks pretty good. "Whaddaya mean, 'don't cross the streams'? What happens?" Also fits well on other Siege figures, as shown with Sideswipe here. Hound: "Now be careful with it, it's not a toy." Sideswipe: "I know what I'm doing, I've seen the Ghostbusters movies." Sideswipe: "Now stand back as I–" BOOM Hound: "See, I told you." Sideswipe: "Did Wheeljack make this?" Also, I got Universe Hardhead a couple weeks ago and he's pretty good. The only things I didn't like were the electronics and the clear yellow visor, so I removed the electronics and painted the visor to be a more Hardheady blue. I think it looks pretty good now. I certainly like it as a pre-headmaster Hardhead until I eventually get the Headrobots kit. Sorry for the shadows and flash, picture quality was bad and it was the only way that I could get the blue to kinda show up.
That's pretty cool. The Hound Alt mode needs a taller windshield, maybe make a gun for the back, like the old Jeeps. The proton pack came out great
Thanks for the response! I agree, Hound could probably use a taller windshield. I'm using the TR Skullcrusher gun as his machine gun for now, at least until I can find something better. I also plan on getting some of those Nonnef 5mm peg adapters so it can tilt up a bit too. Thanks!
Could you saw/file notches into the sides of the construct bots piece so that it is held in place by the edges of the alt mode gap with the 5mm port pointing up? -edited for simplicity-
I might be able to. It's mostly held in place from the top and bottom, so I don't see why not. That's a really good idea, I'm gonna have to try that. At the very least, it'll raise the machine gun up some. Thanks for the idea!
