When they were on the wires and the Steeljaws were approaching, Cade mentioned that she is 17. He said that she wasn't able to make her own decisions yet since she wasn't 18, so he had to listen to her.

So, yes. It was mentioned in the movie that she is 17.

The scene where Wahlberg is talking to her and Shane about their relationship, he says she's 17 (and that it isn't legal for Shane to be dating her). So yeah, in the movie.

Anyway, there really isn't a difference between in the movie and real life, attractive is attractive, and I'll go Megan Fox since she's both the best eye candy of the franchise and the only one of the three that could act halfway decent.

i was the one that brought up that she, tessa is only 17, then he was like "well Mikaela was only 17". but it never really states that anywhere within the movie.

AND if she is only 17 there. then it is just as wrong as all the stupid camera shots bay did for Tessa.

but at least with megan fox, here character, we DO see as an adult.

so to me there is at least a difference. putting Tessa on there is just really creepy to me. now if you wanted to put the actress up there, who's 19. that's fine.

but the character is still 17.

 

As long as the actress is 18+ I'm not seeing the really weird part in it.

 

it is still depicting a minor. the first time the movie mentions her age, Mark says she's "12 to 17". and people are calling her hot, with in the movie.

i find that really creepy. which all could of been avoided if she was just playing an 18 year old from the start.

To be fair I imagine a good amount of the people posting are minors too. So I wouldn't call that really creepy or anything. Second, even though Megan Fox's age was never explicitly stated in TFTM, I mean they're both seniors, so if you think that the attention being paid to Tessa is creepy than the same should be applied to Makayla as well since the age difference is minimal, if any at all.

 

i understand that there are a lot of minors. the creepy thing is not them. like i said. the creepy thing, is michael bay. which is equally as creepy, if Makayla is supposed to be 17 in the first movie.

the difference to me is that i can't say one way or another for sure if michael bay intended Makayla to be 17, or 18 in the first movie.

since AOE states her age. and it is still showing her off the way it is. is the creepy factor.

they could of also just not stated an age at all. and i'd be more okay with it. i even understand that the people around Tessa's age in here are going to be finding her attractive.

So one year makes this big of a difference to you? Hell 17 means legal in some states. I mean I get what you're saying about the director being exploitative (right word) of woman, but the one year difference between it being weird and okay is kinda silly, don't ya think?

But the laws you're pointing at are followed in the film since both actresses were legal age or older, and in the film the characters were the minimum age of being legal. So again, no laws or unspoken rules are really being broken here.

 

i am just trying to say, we got to draw a line somewhere.

if 17 is close enough to 18, then it 16 is close enough to 17. and ect. if we keep going by that, pretty soon we are at 2 year olds.

the age of the adults does not matter to me. it is the fact that they are being depicted as not adults, that does.

maybe it is because my state's laws says any depiction of minors in a sexual way, *17 and under.* is illegal. maybe that is just the reason why i am having a problem with this, i don't know.

but i had a problem with this about these movies in 2007. but i let it pass. just because he never stated an age.

because i was an adult senior year. so there was a possibility that she was too.
