Hot Spot (G1) question

    Hot Spot is a powder blue fire engine, not any of the usual shades of red. Does anyone know what the story is behind why it's that color?

    I wondered initially if Japanese fire engines were light blue, but I looked on the Japanese Wikipedia, hordes of red fire engines on the fire truck page. And copy-pasting the kanji into an image search engine, still all red engines. So, where does the blue come from?

    I've seen towns that have white engines and another that has a color much like movie Ratchet. Not everyone uses red.

    around here they tend to be yellow, and barberton has purple fire trucks.

    Possibly because Inferno was red & Hasbro thought it shouldn't have two red fire trucks on the market at the same time & cause confusion. Yes Inferno came out first but Hot Spot was in the planning stages already.
