They're probably sticking to legends+ size, but not necessarily legends+ scale, which would explain why their Reflector is so tall.

i think he would look good standing with mft springer, kup and magnus and the rest of their bots. but i think i am going to wait a bit on him before i commit. i have to see if my mft masters might still end up releasing their hot rodimus.

 

Yeah, I'm starting to waver though. Seeing the shots of him standing next to mft kup sand being the same height - I doubt the mft version will be any smaller so now I'm not sure there's a reason to wait.

 

the only reason i feel like i want to wait and see with him. is for the very simple fact that he looks so much like rodimus and i could not see mft just releasing him with a battle trailer.

i would hate to buy this one and then have mft drop a papa toys hotrod killer a month later and what not.

 

I fully expect this to happen, and yet, my Papa Toys version has shipped.

 

But with a few mods will work fine for Rodimus.

I am sure MFT is scrambling like crazy to see how many ways they can mod his trailer to work with their mech suits as we speak.

 

If youre a legends collector, he is definitely Rodimus size. for legends+, can still squeeze in as Hot Rod. I feel that if MS is releasing their HR, he will come with a trailer and will be Rodimus.

 

I just ordered this guy from Show Z Store. Not sure why I continue to buy figures for 3 different legends collections, but the figure looks cool and I have the MechfansToys Springer, Kup and the DX9 Arcee already.

 

Ordered, if I MFT had thrown me a bone and released an image I probably would of waited.

If MFT releases theirs I'm sure it is going to be the superior version. They will have more time with the design and will have something to prove. Now I wonder if its worth it to them to do so though. Getting their hound out first or their other figures might be more profitable. Or an Arcee, Blurr, etc.. If it was me I'd move on and if I released the hotrod I'd wait at least 6 months to a year. Since we have not seen a picture, I think we are looking at a few months regardless.

Would be funny if they released their trailer first and made sure it worked with Papa Toys. Then release a cheaper combo figure later. That would be one way to get back at them for the loss of the design.

 

Not so sure about MFT releases being superior. Scale preferences aside, PPT released an arguably better Reflector.

 

Highly disagree with this. The paint, construction, size, plastic quality, newly sculpted faces all make MFT’s Reflector better in my opinion.

 

I'm not saying they are better be default. But MFT will have had the design longer. They might be able to clean up the backpack and do something about the feet sticking out the back in alt mode. Also yellow spoiler,tiny target master, face swaps for hotrod/rodimus. Including the trailer for a nominal increase in price as well. Quite a few thinga they can do.

I'll definitly sell the Paps Toys Hotrod if MFT improves on the design.

 

I was wondering if the 2 flaps of the back pack (the one with the exhaust) could be part of the legs. or atleast at the back of the legs. It would have been sleeker. Maybe someone could mod it in the future.

Once I saw this and how he scales with MFT Kupp, I folded like a house of cards and ordered him from hzj401....

I'm going with Magic Square for my mini-bots and car-bots. I guess I'll just have to keep my MFT movie bots separate because they are huge compared to the Magic Square stuff....
