Yeah, Rodimus Prime is my fav character, and I’ve been waiting impatiently for a legends scale one!!

There’s things I like and things I don’t like about this... and as Rodimus is a fav, I’m definitely going to be on the picky side:

Firstly, really hoping it’s legends 0 scale, not +.

Like the general design: hip design is good. That and the foot design look to allow for decent articulation. Not so keen on the face sculpt and how they’ve handled the neck, and the back pack looks bulky, and therefore more likely to not be so stable.

... and from this link it looks like the design also transforms to hot rod. Not a fan of that idea for lots of reasons, mainly because it involves making a lot of compromises elsewhere.

Also, not nice that it’s a stolen piece of work. I’d hope that the originally intended label still releases him.

 

Another Legends figure that looks better than the MP version.

 

If that's the case then hopefully they'll manage it better than Hasbro/Takara has in the past.

 

Not positive, but from what I could make out in Bots & Bits post, Papa Toys is the original designer of this. I beleive the thief stole designs from the Papa Toys Designer, the Giga designer and Mister Moons designer, then attempted to sell those designs to BBQ/BB7 who released the XTB/Sideswipe KO. For whatever reason, BB7 or their factory had a stroke of conscience and ratted the thief out to the 3P community, rather than proceeding. I would assume that this is still coming from Papa as the original owner.
{wild speculation}:
Interesting what this reveals about the interconnections within the 3P industry. The fact that three designers for three different companies were all travelling together, and all vulnerable to the same crook reinforces the idea that 3P is a very small world. It's possible that all three companies use the same factory (Given the connection to KFC/XTB and their stunticons, it may even relate to the often touted idea that Keith contracts his factories/producton/distribution services out to other 3P's). None of the three victims here are "big players" like FansToys, Maketys etc. so all are more likely to be contracting production out to some other group/factory.

Very interested to see a side/back/height comparison shot for this guy, and a video to give an idea of in-hand stability. Would be keen to see that he doesn’t have arms like TR six shot too: hard to describe, but it looks like he might not be able to raise his arms in front of him and then open them out to the side.

 

It looks like he has TR Blurr / DX9 Carry arms.... No "Come at me bro" pose for this guy. And outward hand/gun pointing is ugly at best. sigh.
