So I am being offered an X-Box 360, controllers, and games, but I have no TV. I just use my laptop for everything (it has a pretty good size screen).

Is it possible to hook-up an X-Box 360 to a laptop? Does anyone here know how to do this? I have no electrical engineering skills, so I was hoping there was an adaptor (hopefully cheap).

    Thanks!

Not possible as far as my experience goes. If you had a computer screen hooked up to a desktop, it might work but there would be tons of adapters and stuff. Best bet is still to buy a small screen TV.

I've done a bit of research on this, and for a straight forward answer I'd say no, it's not possible. HDMI ports in laptops tend to be HDMI-out rather than in, and using VGA or composite cables involves a bit of messing around with capture cards and extra cabling.

I think, by the time you've done all that messing about and got it set up (NB: it still won't be great quality with the possibility of lag as well), you'd do better looking for a cheapish TFT monitor and hooking it up to that instead.

I'll see if I can find the links to the capture card stuff, but honestly in this day and age I think you're better off looking for a second hand TFT screen.
