Does anyone know the best place or places in Hong Kong to go for getting Henkei, Masterpiece, Binaltech/Alternity Transformers? My father is going soon and is willing to grab some stuff for me I just need to be able to give him directions. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Yeah I went to HK about 5 years ago there's a ton of shops in Kowloon. There's a shopping district a few blocks away from the Langham Palace Hotel, that is the hotel where I stayed. I passed up getting a lot binaltechs and MP-01 when I was there

Was there to visit family and vacation for about 2 years ago. Don't expect to find any good deals. It might be slightly cheaper but after everything said and then, it's pretty much the same as going to the big online stores like BBTS to get the same stuff.

Also, don't know how you're dad is about this but most of those stores open after later in the evening. From like 5 pm to 11 pm. Filled with kids buying just toys and random junk. It might be too overwhelming for your dad. Again, stick with the online stores. Really no difference unless you speak the language and have a friend to guide you around. I think the only decent deal I got was MP Skywarp for $50. After buying the first two, the dealer realized his price was too low then raised it to $90. :l

And that tformers post is very useful. Still can see some of my post there couple years ago.

on the toy-wave website they indicate that they are located in HK and give a 10% (5%?) discount if you buy in store. If this stacks with the 10-15% sale they are having this month it might be worth looking into. their stock is limited though.

According to the Toy-Wave site, they are at San Po Kong.

Hong Kong's got a public subway system called the MTR. According to Google Maps, the closest MTR stations to Toy-Wave are Wong Tai Sin and Diamond Hill, but based on the map it seems to be a good 10 to 20-minute walk from either MTR station before you reach Toy-Wave.

Your dad could take a taxi to the Toy-Wave shop, but you'll need to give the driver the name of the place in Chinese.

The real places to go toy shopping would be in Mong Kok.

check macrossworld forums. there is a section of "where to buy macross items" in there is a thread about asia. Look for my screen name. I updated the information and with pics of the store fronts.

    I SECOND that opinion! :rock

Be sure to visit CTMA building/Centre in Mong Kok. Imagine 7 storeys of specialty toy shops!  (back in their glorious days)

Most of them had since moved on to other areas or closed for good but there's still enough shops there to fill up 3 storeys. Its a MUST VISIT place if one's looking for toys. :thumb

If you don't have a friend from there who knows about transformers toy, you really don't make any big difference in price, some might be more expensive.

You know, you could've easily asked this in the Hong Kong Sightings Thread. I'm sure they know where to go.

Didn't know we had this. But then again, it looks like it's mostly non-native people and doesn't look that active.

There was this one store near the tram to victoria peak that had vintage toys and new toys. Very cool store. Had some g1 stuff but was slightly overpriced. Also completely forgot I might be going back to HK in August for a tournament. Guess I better update myself on HK stores now. :lol
