I know the common awnser but I just would like to know what do most of you think of him

To me (no shocker to most) I don't like him, the way he half hazardly explains things makes it sounds like he's mocking our intelligence making us think we're stupid by how he half hazardly explains how each of the movies are related even though hasbro and the production team says other wise

He also feels too nosey and just adds this unnecessary limit to what the writers can and can do like for example nightbird in rise of the beast was going to have more character depht that basically tells us she would've joined the decepticons, but no much like creative writing we can't have that anymore

I also don't like how dismissive he is like how he said transformers isn't good enough on its own like he doesn't actually bother doing his research... much like Micheal bay... then people like that don't bother doing research because they don't want to be fully committed the word or movie their making

Now I will give Lorenzo a benefit of the doubt I won't say he's a bad person to say the least... all we know about the argument between Lorenzo and Steven and what he said to him was for all we know an accident but until more is researched and uncovered I'll chalk it up to it being a slip of the tung

Still doesn't change the fact that I still don't like him and how he questions our intelligence

Now then some quick ground rules
    • Keep your comments civil
    • Keep your explanation straight forward
    • Don't spread hateful and toxic comments towards Lorenzo, he maybe a bad director of sorts but he's still a human being so again Keep it civil
    • You don't have to think too much about it
    • Respect everyone opinions and thoughts
Now let's see what you have to say

He's quoted as saying he hates digital cameras and the internet for reducing Hollywood's power to control tastes.

He sounds like the kind of person you should keep far away from any kind of media franchise adaptation. Comic, cartoon and video game film adaptations have been rife with people who fundamentally don't respect the source material they're adapting (or at least think that it's "not realistic enough" in a mildly juvenile "dark and edgy" sense) and while passion doesn't necessarily equal quality, it's definitely something that should be prioritized.

    Honest opinion?

Mouthpiece who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

I believe he started out with the best of intentions and worked hard but Hollyweird broke him down. Then, he became what Hollywood is, fake and writing checks.
He doesn't listen to anyone, he doesn't do what others want, he just pushes his own agenda and never put Bay on a leash.
He's inconsistent at best, a liar more likely, and worst? Possibly a racist. (We've heard no updates, but that doesn't mean it's a good thing.)

Bottom line: I think he got corrupted (or already was) and he's just showing his true colors of not having a clue, and being difficult.

The only good decisions made were rebooting Bumblebee instead of it being a prequel (even though he walked that back), and Transformers One being a new reboot/new universe.

On a personal level, maybe he's great with friends and family? Who knows. On a business level, he ain't great.

No idea who you’re talking about. Is this person like Madonna or Bono and only goes by one name? Who the hell is Lorenzo, and why should I have any opinions of him?

I don't like him either. He just doesn't seem like a great person when it comes to his work on both TF and G.I. Joe. (I'll never forgive him for saying Cobra Commander looks like a Klansman, or failing to understand why we like The Transformers: The Movie.)
    He walked that back too...
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of every Transformers film since 2007 (and the G.I. Joe movies)

He's a guy that pretty much the entire fandom agrees is bad (I think it's one of the few things we agree on lol)

Is he the guy that only begrudgingly brought Peter Cullen in for an audition for TF1 due to fan demand, and then tried to sabotage him by not having anyone else for him to read a scene with?

As it happens- the scene was between Optimus & Ironhide, so Peter did both voices with no problem.

If that was Lorenzo, then yeah- not a fan.

Don’t know the guy, and I’m sure he has some strengths as typically we all have at least something we excell in.

Thing is I would like to see the brand under a different producer for the same reason I want as new show, I love fresh takes and new blood to widen the brand.

Sounds like Micheal bay but unlike bay he did bring in a new era of fans, as for Lorenzo feels like he's brining some of us alot of headaches

I wouldn't say he's racist, stress can really bring people to their boiling point but I do agree with you that was a bad call and we don't know the full story till the full statement been heard which probably won't come out

I don't understand why folks seem obsessed with him, to be honest. He's a known entity at this point - assume he's going to say whatever he thinks in that moment will put more weight on his reputation or more bucks in his pocket.

Okay, now that I know who this guy is, I’m curious why anyone’s opinions on him— which are probably based on third-hand information anyway— even matter. Do I like the live-action films? No, not at all. Does that reflect on this individual on a personal level? No.

I don't really like the guy but I don't hate him either. The obsessive hate that some people around here have for him and what he says is a bit much though. He isn't the boogeyman that he is made out to be.

I can understand the obsessive hate, myself. I have the same feeling towards that voice director over in Japan who loves adlibbing. It's like one of those things where you can trace a lot of problems down to one person, and that one person keeps popping up and making things worse. As time goes on, you just start hating them because it feels like they're a key reason for a franchise or series getting worse.

I think all the hate threads about him are tiresome, dumb, and unproductive. But regarding the man himself, I don't think he's especially creative or suited to be a mouthpiece for these movies, and I'm just baffled that he's out front in these press junkets more than any other movie producer I can think of offhand (which isn't many, TBH).

I generally just ignore him because I can't remember the last time he's said something consequential, and I think most on this board would be better off to do so as well. But I guess the idea of Transformers fans not engaging in a circlejerk of rage is sillier than anything he says.

Oh, I'd say everything he says is consequential. Even the lies. Because it's proof he meddles and is a big part of the reason the franchise hasn't broken free from its terrible shackles.

He keeps wanting to go back to Bayverse. Unless we're missing out on a contractual thing with Paramount where they require it, Lorenzo is only problematic at this point and won't let go of the past.

I have seen him mentioned over the years, especially way back before the 07 movie, but never particularly cared about what he was saying. I'm not entirely sure the people making the movies do either. He honestly does not seem that important to how the movies turned out. I place most of the blame for that on the directors, script writers, and actors.
