Live Action Armada Designs are my dream. Or at least designs close to them.

I'd actually be interested to see how they would look if they used realistic alt-modes rather than blatantly toy ones while keeping their overall look.

I mean, Bumblebee certainly delivered on those fronts, no?

I think 07 and Bumblebee were decent to good films. 1986 is just a nostalgia fest imo, and the rest of the live action movies (DOTM is debatable) tend to be just bad.

I also agree with your other points.

I didn’t say we did. I was just it seemed like it. I’m just theorizing here.

    You’re kidding right?

Then what is their focus? From what I read, interviews from the new leadership, they bashed Transformers The Last Knight and said Bumblebee was what they should have done from the beginning.

You know, all these news make me kinda feel bad for Mattel on the Masters of the Universe front. They still couldn't get a live action film off the ground for years (the Goyer film was their best shot and they screwed it) and Transformers is still a successfull franchise (minus The Last Knight) with new projects coming. Sad, many such cases.

Very possible, we don't know. I think it was a rumour that Joseph Kosinski would direct a Optimus Prime film?

With this many projects under the belt, I'm hoping other brands also get as much as chance for revival. #HasbroVerse #HCU

I guess I was thinking primarily of the Live-Action films.

    So?

This is a fantastic point. I've never understood the whole "realistic" argument as a defense against G1 style robots. We have no idea what aliens or space robots would look like if they were real. And the idea of what realistic aliens and robots look like changes with the times. 1950s sci-fi portrayed aliens and robots much differently than sci-fi now. It's all fictional, and it says more about the artistic taste of current culture than it is a reflection of real science, robotics, biology, or physics.

The standard for realistic robots should probably be a Mars rover or Boston dynamics robot, since those are some of the most advanced robots we are aware of. Realism has to mirror reality, you can't just make stuff up. But even more importantly, it's fine for Transformers to not look realistic because realism isn't the standard for good designs, unless realism is the goal. And I feel like neither Bay or G1 were aiming for realism. Bay's goal seemed to be making them more athletic and contemporary, which he accomplished. Has Bay (or anyone associated with him) ever said that the movie robots are supposed to be realistic portrayals of alien robots?

So what? You’re seriously asking if we know for sure that we’re going to be getting more toys from these films? I can’t tell if you’re trying to mess with me or if you’re genuinely asking.

Ok, and that's a bad thing? This is very good and it doesn't contradict anything @Shadow25 said. I'm happy Paramount are taking this approach, including that they are young directors which might mean they might habe grew up with Transformers.

I didn't say anything about toys.

    Thanks for being rude, mate.

Not to stir the pot, but.......:ev:
Bayverse robot design was most definitely not G1.
I'm not saying it was a bad thing, as I'd take Camaro Bee, Topkick Ironhide and Humvee Ratchet over their G1 alt mode counterpart any day. It also brought us new characters like Dino and Jolt.

Bumblebee gave us the familiar G1 robot designs. Even the theater I went to see the movie at, people cheered and lost their minds at the Cybertron scene.

I probably won't goto the theater to see the BW movie, since I'm not as connected to those characters. Plus, I have a feeling it won't be the Beasties we think it will be. I have a sinking feeling they'll be human made, similar to AOE.

Isn't the Cybertron movie suppose to be on Netflix?

I wonder if a Transformers vs G. I. Joe crossover is in development or moving around at Paramount.

Ohhh wait. I know what you’re questioning. My defense is that I’m tired. With this film not being connected to anything before it, it seems like that’s what they’re going for. I’m mostly spitballing.

The Cybertron film is theatrical from Paramount Animation. No release date yet, could be 2023.

As a potential customer, I want an entertainment company to prioritize the quality of their entertainment. I could not care less who its creators are.
