I've been stewing on this for awhile and Titans Return finally pushed me over the edge. I really dislike the look of figures with wide-open inside arms. I get that it makes it easy to flip out the fists but how hard/costly would it be to pin an extra panel on each arm that swings out of the way for the fist and then fits back in to cover up the gap? Titans Returns is littered with figures suffering from this problem and it makes them look cheap.

    What do you guys think?

I agree with you completely. but it seems the majority here have given up on it and just accept it or opt not to buy. I would gladly pay an extra dollar per figure for the feature.

Only really bugs me on the Leader class figures. Deluxe and Legends scale don't magnify the empty cavities quite as bad, but at Leader size it's really in your face. "Transformers - Less Than Meets The Eye"!

This and empty cavities on recent figures (2012 and forward, I think) let me to not collect TF figures other than MP. I would like to like figures such as TR Scourge and Galvatron, but those things are just unacceptable to me.

I'm sure someone's gonna be upset when they realize that Triggerhappy has hollow forearms despite still being figure of the year.

That is literally the first thing I think about when I think about hollow forearms.
there absolutely could've been a better solution than that on this particular figure especially at its price point. I just can't understand how a designer could be happy with that on a finished masterpiece. That being said in this case I can forgive it because I love the figure so much otherwise. What bothers me is the prevalence of it in current designs

Haha figure of the year? According to who?
Not that I dislike it, but that seems a tad hyperolic for this particular figure.

Classics toys are the cheaper line.

MP nowadays are also the cheaper version what Masterpiece was suppose to be.

Dunno. Still love Blurr as much as any other bot.

Just enjoy the toys and that's it.

I don't have a problem with hollowed out limbs. Its just stupid to call the figure ruined just because of a small little thing like hollowed out limbs.

I hate the hollow forearms thing. It makes the figure look cheap, for me. Considering pretty much every titans return deluxe and voyager have these huge gaps in their arms....yeah, it sucks. There has to be a betterr solution.

Ditto. And there's been hollow limbs since the dawn of Transformers...why is it suddenly the worst thing ever just in the past few years?

Well, he is to me, besides, who else? Either way, I don't let silly things like hollow forearms ruin good figures for me.

I don't mind paying more to avoid this problem and it seems that if the Masterpiece is big enough it's not a problem...

    Masterpiece Inferno

But yeah, it's annoying and cheapens the figure :(

it isn't stupid to have a preference and to voice it in a respectful way. I am certain that there are things in life that you do not like that others do. Does that make you stupid for feeling that way?

no one said it is the worst thing ever. The op merely said he dislikes it and wishes for a minor concession to fix it.

hollow arms dont ruin figures to me, but they do spoil my enthusiasm for them. especially since it is such an easy thing to prevent.

My question here is; would anyone be unhappy if the titans return line had flip up panels to hide the hand holes as opposed to how they are now. If not, what is the harm in wanting them?

Honestly it depends on how it's done. If it's minor it doesn't bug me but if it's larger then I get a little annoyed.
