Got nice G1 Soundwave and Shockwave boxes yesterday...and the foam for Shockwave the day before that. Need to track down a Soundwave foam tray and I'll be able to display two of my favoritest TFs ever in all their packaged glory. Box naysayers, bugger off.

Woot! I found Cyb. Downshift tonight. Curiously no CD Hot Shot.

    But who cares?!! [/Ruby Rod]

Downshift fucking rocks. Vaults to the top of the list for a tie with Sideways for favorite deluxe...maybe ever.

Holy crap! I was in a mall I raaarely ever go to, wandered into the KB and what do I find? The guy literally just finished putting a case of ML 12 on the pegs. A variant case. Skipped the red Iron Fist, but picked up bald Bishop, unmasked Wolverine, white Sasquatch (aka Wendigo in my world), and both X-23s. Dunno which X-23 is technically the variant. I thought it was the purple one, but I was at TRU last week and there were 4-5 purples and no blacks, so :sly:
Need to go back to that TRU and pick up a Maestro I guess, if he's still there. The ones the TRU had were the corrected ones with the Apoc hose. The ones today were an old batch with the hose missing, otherwise I would have picked one up to finish off Apoc, even though I dinna care about Maestro.

-Wal-Mart didn't restock their Alternators, so there weren't any Tracks to replace mine. Fortunately, my dad said he'll check the stores back home for one.

Highs - Found and bought CD Hot Shot!!! And right next to him, found C-Downshift, whom I passed on (for a luckier shopper to scoop!) Also made some deals through Junkion that I should receive by next week. :D

Lows - Hot Shot is a bit smaller and less articulated than I imagined, but that's a minor complaint to finding a figure I've wanted for a good long while. :)

Haul from BBTS today, with some great stuff, some crap and some mediocre:

    The Bad

Green G2 Slag - What a piece of crap. The joints are loose as hell, the sword is rubbery and it's unstable in both modes, amoung other things. Since it's a vintage figure, I'm guessing the joint issues are just wear, but that doesn't excuse the other problems. Hopefully, once I get some Reprolabels on it, it'll be salvageable as a display piece.

    The Mediocre

Sky Shadow - Not bad, one of the better Fuzors I've seen. The aesthetic is pretty good and articulation is decent in both modes. There are a few unstable areas in robot mode, but it's not floppy and stands well. Could use some more paint applications on the green areas and a spring-loaded missile rather than a pressure-shooter.

    The Good

Razorclaw - A decent Basic, especially from early in the Beast Wars line. Both modes hold together quite well and there's some hidden weapons that add character to the figure. Some of the kibble could be hidden better in beast mode, though.

B'Boom - Sure, he's a mandrill, not a baboon, but the name's interesting. I was a little unsure about this figure, but it's quite nice. Aesthetic and articulation are great in beast and robot mode and there are lots of neat details. The weapons platform mode is...OK. It's better than Transquito's battle station form, but not as stable as the beast and robot mode. Some of the joints necessary for the weapons platform also impair the stability of the robot form a little; B'Boom would almost certainly be a stronger figure without the 'third mode'.

    The Excellent

Botcon Energon Spear Set - Exclusive blue and purple spears modeled here by Quickstrike and Dreadwing, respectively. The Energon weapons are my favorite 'gimmick' of the recent lines and I was sad to see them eliminated for the Cybertron line. These exclusives were a bit pricey, but I got them on sale and they're an excellent alternative to the standard models that were included with Skyblast. The highlight of this haul.
