Looking at the picture again and seeing the amazing amount of detail, I'd be super PISSED if Michael Bay doesn't win an award for "Best CGI". I was pissed that he didn't get an award for the first Transformers movie. Didn't some Disney movie win the award instead? If so, that's freaking pathetic. By the way, would someone be willing to make a wallpaper out of that twins pic? They're my favorite characters in the movie and it would look cool on desktop.
True, although a director's eye goes a long way in what is expected of ILM; he might ask them to do something over ten times until it looks right, when other directors might be satisfied with the third version. Alternatively, some directors seem to ask for CGI sequences so silly that couldn't possibly look real (like the dinosaurs tumbling down the canyon in King Kong). There are directors whose films always seem to have terrible CGI; Stephen Sommers comes to mind. Outstanding CGI requires that the guy running the show has a strong understanding of light and also physics, otherwise he'll start asking for shit that could only look silly or approving shots that really ought to go back for revisions.
I'm gonna keep a second option in my mind and speculate that they might be looking at Jetfire Prime, too. Skids looks like he's smiling and i don't think watching a giant decepticon form up warrents happiness. we'll find out next week, though.
