So HFTD Ratchet always confused me as to why not many people used him much, He always seemed cool to me. But, one thing that I noticed on the figure that could easily be fixed, and can really upgrade the way it looks.

Firstly, did you know that Ratchet's head was on a ball-joint? I sure didn't! The pieces on either side of his head completely hinder his movement from side to side, so cutting those will be the first step:

Then, while we're at it, let's shave a bit off the corners of the bottom of the head, so that it can tilt a bit.

Now his head is actually functional!

Next thing we are going to do is separate the front window from the back hood piece that sits directly behind the head. Then we glue the window into place where it should be in vehicle mode. By doing this, we will be able to tilt the panel back against the backpack, which makes it look a lot cleaner. However, you will need to file down and cut away a bit of plastic from the edges shown here in order to provide clearance.

And once you make sure you have enough clearance, we are good to go! And don't worry, this does not affect transformation!

HFTD is one of my favorite movie moulds because of how unique the transformation and colors are. Never realized the head was on a ball joint. Mine is broken so I don't figure on doing the mods. Still cool anyway!
