    Paints Used:
    - Black Gloss Acrylic
    - Gold Metallic Acrylic
    - Gray (mix of black gloss and white gloss)
    - Orange Gloss Acrylic
    - Silver Metallic Acrylic
    - Sky Blue (mix of 3/4 white gloss and a tiny amount of blue gloss)
    - Flat Steel Enamel
    - Metallic Copper Enamel

I can't remember if I already did this one before, so here it is again with some more paint apps. I'm actually surprised at the size of this mold given how it dwarfs nearly every other figure that came out at the time. Out of all the movie Ironhide figures that have been released throughout the years this one really captured the buff and stocky look of the cg model. If someone out there knows of an upsized voyager version then please tell me because I want it really bad. If it does exist then I pray to Primus that it isn't too bloody expensive. I remember those classics KO Seekers like Sunstorm that originally went for around $40+ which I felt was too much considering I heard from the master of beards known as the mighty Thew that the plastic quality was a bit on the crappy side.

I'm with you - it's the only mold I ever liked of the character too.
Check out my minor mods, it'll improve on your already impressive custom.

Well I'm already content with Ironhide as he is but those are indeed good mods. The only mods I've done lately was fix the gorilla arm problems of Slash and Strafe.

Looks good man. Probably my favorite Ironhide movie figure since he scales well with the voyager Optimus and Sentinel, and looks better than the voyager version of himself.

Not many customs of this guy out there... My own copy of this mold lost its truck-bed flaps (the halves that attach to the arms) due to the pin-hinges shattering during transformation.

    Shiny plastic is brittle plastic.

yours too? bought the HFTD one after my transscan one's hood snapped and within five minutes the normal one had a broken arm hinge. now i'm trying to track down another scanning one to make into a G1 style ironhide, lol.

Yeah I must be lucky then seeing as I've owned this mold for several years now and no signs of any potential breakage. I definitely would not mind snagging another one to repaint into his G1 colors.

Same here - mine's been transformed multiple times & still seems solid (and it's no easy transformation either!).

I feel the same way about ROTF leader Optimus but once you transform it enough times it doesn't become quite as much as a challenge anymore.
